Welcome to Penn State’s College of Communications Peer Mentor Program. The Peer Mentor Program facilitates an interactive relationship between experienced students within the College of Communications and new freshmen aspiring to pursue a degree in one of the Communications’ majors ( journalism/broadcast journalism, telecommunications, media studies, advertising/public relations, film/video ). By encouraging a one-on-one interaction, new students coming into the College of Communications program will hopefully gain a better understanding of what Penn State has to offer, both academically and socially.

In addition to promoting better communication among new students and experienced students and forwarding contacts with various clubs, the Peer Mentor Program hopes to found friendships that will last a lifetime. The website is finally up! During the summer I will be working to move this website to the PSU domain server; if we can do that, then the URL will probably change to www.clubs.psu.edu/COMMpeers or something like that. For now, this will have to do. I will be sending out an e-mail to all Peer Mentors in the next week with information about summer events. I will also be recruiting a Special Events Director to help me out with social functions and gatherings for the fall semester.

I would love feedback about the website. A good friend of mine, Crystal, helped an enormous deal with the design and graphics. I mainly spent hours looking over her code in wonder and seeing what would happen if I did this code, that tag, that colour, and here it is! Send me an e-mail with your comments. - Ally
