Puget Sound Nerf Squad

Nerf on!

The Weapons Policy

1) The PSNC is an ASUPS recognized club, and we use Nerf Blasters for recreational purposes.

2) The new weapons policy "does not include objects that are authorized, designated and used in accordance with departmental policies for operational, academic and/or recreational purposes (e.g. fencing equipment used in athletics)."

Therefore,
3) Nerf blasters are allowed on campus when authorized for recreational purposes (such as for Nerf Matches).

and
4) I am not being underhanded. The ASUPS Senate endorses this reasoning.

Now, this does not mean you can shoot each other whenever you want (disappointing, I know). It does not mean we will be playing assassins. What it means is that we can have organized, controlled events. You may discreetly carry your blasters to and from events, and use them at events.

A Note about Security

- If your RA or Security tries to take your blaster, show them the above excerpt from the weapons policy

- At this time, you may store blasters, discreetly carry them to and from events, and use them at events. I wish it was greater than that, but let's see the glass half full, shall we?

- If you aren't violating the above rule and your RA or Security takes your blaster, contact us immediately and we will get it back to you. They DO NOT have the right to take your blasters in the above case.

 - Most importantly, do not be rude or exorbitant. PSNC is already bending the rules enough, and we don't want any more trouble because somebody told off a Security Guard. While we do have the rights, it is possible that an authority figure is misinformed or has his or her own idea of how things should work. In this case we would rather your blaster be confiscated and then WE get it back for you, than for you to take matters into your own hands and put a bad mark on the club.
