OLD JOKES

And God said,

“Those ungrateful humans! They want to

know more? I’ll give them more.”

Then God created STR

as punishment

for eating the fruit of knowledge…

Pity the Pisay scholars,

those who suffer

 the punishment of mankind…

The PSHS Research Program

"The Philippine Science High School Scholar,

nurtured by competent faculty and staff,

has a scientific mind and a passion for excellence,

is dedicated to the service of the country,

and committed to the pursuit of truth."

In accordance with this vision, the PSHS Research Program aims to enhance the students' critical thinking and communication skills while instilling the value of discipline and patience in doing scientific research.

The program starts with a one-unit course in the third year (STR1) which covers training in basic research skills such as information search, topic generation, and scientific writing.  The third year curriculum's main output is a full research proposal.

In the fourth year level, the students are expected to implement the proposal and write the scientific paper for the project.  Also a one-unit course, STR2  includes requiring the students to participate in the annual Research competition held as a culminating activity of the program.
