PS3-TF2: PlayStation 3 Team Fortress 2 Community

About the Community

PS3-TF2's origins can be traced to a group of PlayStation 3 Team Fortress 2 players that met on the GameFAQs / GameSpot forum for The Orange Box. This website was founded in February of 2008 by tmacman and served as a repository for the community's findings on TF2 and a place to set up organized games.

The community has grown incredibly since that time. We hold weekly games, which include themed matches (like Heavy boxing and one class matches), started a competitive team within our ranks to compete with the growing community of competitive TF2 players on the PS3, and moved out to our own forums where we can further get to know our fellow members.

How to Join

If you're interested in joining, simply register an account at our forums and introduce yourself! Just be sure to come out and play some games with us. Simple as that.

All that we ask from our members is that that a) you have a mic/headset to communicate in TF2, b) own and play The Orange Box for PS3, c) refrain from glitching in ranked matches and d) you have fun.

FAQ

Q: Is PS3-TF2 a clan?

A: Not in the traditional sense of a competitive clan. Anyone can join (provided they meet the above criteria, none of which are skill-based) and we don't hold tryouts or practices. Our aim is to have fun playing TF2 on the PS3 and generally random matches in silence are not ideal for that.

Q: What about the GF-TF2 Competitive Team on the forums?

A: Some of our community members do in fact compete with TF2 clans on the PS3 in matches and scrims. Anyone who is a team player and a good sport is welcome to join (though you'll start out as back-up in deference to the current roster), provided they are vouched for by a few of the community's members. Q: PS3-TF2? GF-TF2?

A: Yes, it's a little weird that we have two different names for our site and forums... but they're rather straightforward descriptions of the community. Very simply, PS3-TF2 was named so because we just started out as a bunch of people looking for others to play TF2 with on the PS3. GF-TF2 reflects our roots: we came from GameFAQs.

Q: What's the D-List?

A: The D-List is a listing of the PSNs of players who habitually glitch in ranked games. Our members vehemently disapprove of such behavior as it ruins the experience of players wanting to find legitimate matches. The D-List is a community-wide effort: help us keep our games glitch-free by reporting the names of people who ruin TF2 for the rest of us. If you see your PSN on the list... then there's a simple way to get off of it: stop glitching.
