Now sponsored by the PRSA Foundation, the program was established by the Champions For PRSSA, an informal group of professionals who have special, ongoing interests in PRSSA, its members and public relations education. PRSSA has named the scholarships for Betsy Plank, who—together with PRSSA “godfather” Jon Riffel—founded the Champions in 1981.

Eligible? full-time undergraduate student at an accredited four-year colege or university. Junior. At least a 3.0 GPA and a member of PRSSA is optional. Must be students who are of African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander ancestry. Amount: Two scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each will be awarded. Deadline: Friday, April 17, 2009 Please see Dana for application form! | The scholarship program was established in 1989 by PRSA's Multicultural Affairs Committee, to assist and recognize young men and women for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. The scholarship program is administered by the PRSA foundation. Amount: Each fall, a $1,500 schaolarship is awarded to a qualified PR student chosen be the selection committee. This year the price has been increased to $3,000. The scholarship was developed by Allison & Partners in memory of Steve Pisinski, APR, Fellow PRSA and founder of The Montgomery Group.
