Job Summary:
The intern will support ALSAC's staff as required by the organization for the implementation of fundraising activities. The intern will assist with special event planning, attend and assist in event operations, prepare media/press releases, assist in follow up activities, assist in recruiting sponsorship, and research necessary information for event planning. The intern must work effectively with all St. Jude staff, volunteers, and donors, and must represent St. Jude with a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism.
This is a paid position. The pay will be $6.15 per hour. The intern will work between 20-30 hours a week. This will be determined at the time of hire.
Job Requirement:
Major in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business, or other liberal arts background. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and strong oral and written communication skills. The intern must be actively enrolled in a related course of study in an accredited college or university as at least a sophomore (in good standing) and be at least 18 years of age. The intern must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality.
Bilingual Skills are a plus (oral and written):
Intern will write and design communication materials such as letters, e-mails, brochures, and flyers in Spanish. In addition, he/or she must be able to fluently communicate with the Spanish speaking community.

The PRSA Public Relations Department and PRSSA will once again offer a twelve-week-long internship at National Headquarters. This program will provide the recipients with hands-on experience in the field and an opportunity to apply what they have learned in their classrooms to actual public relations projects. The students will work closely with the Directors of Public Relations and Education on several projects, which will provide training to multi-task and sharpen their internal/external communication skills. Some of the projects will include writing and editing press releases, updating news clippings, creating and updating media lists, assisting with event publicity, coordinating and assisting with the monthly E-Newsletter, assisting the PRSSA Department as needed, including expediting mailings, working on National Conference projects, researching and writing press releases and updating and maintaining the membership database. Also includes general office administration.
This internship is for twelve weeks, lasting from June through August of 2009.
Candidates should be PRSSA members in good standing, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Juniors and seniors with concentrations in public relations, communications, journalism or marketing related fields are preferred. Candidates must be available for a phone interview, if selected as a finalist.
Each recipient will be compensated at a rate of $10 per hour for twelve 20-hour work weeks. No transportation or housing will be provided.

As a public relations intern, he or she will be a part of the daily operations of the PR department. MOSI is seeking students in Marketing (Business), Special Events and/or Public Relations with specific knowledge and interest in marketing & PR. Candidate should have an interest in learning how to secure promotion opportunities with local businesses and coordinating special events. General Information
Interns are expected to work anywhere between 10 and 20 hours a week, between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday—special events may require additional intern hours. Internships are offered during the Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring semesters. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between MOSI and the university (permission required). All interns are subject to applicable MOSI employee code(s) of conduct.
