WELCOME TO THE SITE OF PROTOTYPE STAFFORDS.
Home to excellent examples of the breed producing top quality offspring, including International Champions.

BREED CLUB MEMBERS, RING CRAFT MEMBERS, FORMER COMITTEE MEMBERS &
KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDERS.
We aim to breed fit and healthy examples of the breed with excellent temperaments which conform to breed standard regardless of colour.
The breed standard being the PROTOTYPE of a particular breed, this is where our KC Registered Affix comes from.

Success and quality do not come from luck, they come from a lot of thought, passion and hard work.

Here at Prototype Kennels we carefully select dogs who compliment each other with the aim or producing better examples of the breed to hopefully campaign in the show ring.
Our dogs are pets first and foremost and not all of them enter our breeding programme, we have very high standards and whilst we only occasionally breed for ourselves this is only with the dogs forming a foundation and continuing our well thought out lines.
We feel conformation, health and temperament all play an equally important part in producing the very best we can.

ABOUT PROTOTYPE KENNELS -

I have been involved with the breed all my life since a family friend and my best friends father bred and campaigned his dogs in the early 80's with his dog CH Ginnels Black Tuskyana apearing in the pedigree's behind many of the dogs we see in the ring today.

I quickly became fascinated by the breed and as soon as i had my own place i got my first girl to show, she was non-kc and attended only working Stafford events but set in stone that showing and bettering the breed was what i wanted to do.

Shortly after this i got my first kc reg stafford bitch Coda, she has been lightly shown at ring craft club events but didn't like the ring, being too laid back her temperament was better utilized as a Pets As Theraphy dog helping to show the breeds true colour's, she produced one colourful litter for us, from which pick of the litter was sent over to Australia, where he has a promising show career and an Australian Chmpion title.
Coda is retired and now lives locally with a close friend of ours and her family where she is spoilt and can spend her days relaxing without the other dogs annoying her with their continual excitment and boundless energy.

Fate brought us our foundation bitch Raven when a friend of a friend was rehoming her, i had been admiring her for a while since i met her and her litter brother so jumped at the chance of giving her a loving home. She has been with us since she was 10 months old and has come on beautifully being lightly shown before producing a promising litter with her daughter and a son now in Australia planning to enter the ring also.
Raven is now shared with good friends of ours, new to the showring, who share our love, commitment and dedication to the breed and will have our advice and support in their plans and the future.

Our next girl was Kia who was co-owned with her breeder but shown by us and took us into the show ring on a more serious level.
She was succesfully campaigned by us and qualified for Crufts 2009 before going back to her breeder to continue with their plans for her.

Our lines are continued through Ravens daughter Pheonix who is co-owned with good friends and will enter the showring in 2009, watch this space for updates on this very special and long awaited little girl who we have high hopes for.

We are very proud of all our achievments within the last seven years, from our two litters we have two offspring bieng shown and doing well in Australia one already a Champion at only 17 months of age and a promising keeper here to continue with a hobby we love, we have an excellent ambasador for the breed who we couldnt ask for more from, a gorgeous blue with excellent conformation who has given us our next generation to campaign and qualified our showgirl for Crufts.

From here we aim to establish our lines, campaign our dogs and continue learning about the breed we love.

Bulldogs were a love of my partner Gav. I found him a Bulldog puppy he could hopefully show alongside the Stafford's while learning more about the breed and how we could possibly help improve on its many health issues.
Unfortunately our Bulldog Rolo became ill and was diagnosed with heart disease at just 5 months of age, at 6 months of age after his liver also failed we lost our beautiful baby boy.
We will at some point continue with these plans, but for now are letting wounds heal and focusing on our Stafford's.

So here we are several years on enjoying the breeds we own + have committed ourselves to improving.

We would like to thank the many friends we have made in the breed and around the show ring, for all their understanding, help and continued support in getting to where we are now and with our plans and aims for the future.

We thank anyone who has taken the time to help us learn from our mistakes, understand our lines, develop our plans and give us the priveledge of not only owning but also working with this wonderfull breed.

We also enjoy any chance to enjoy a Stafford chat so feel free to email us if you are starting out in the breed, with showing or just want to share your passion with us - We still have lots to learn but will also help anyone we can with what we have learnt so far.
