Catharsis

Catharsis is the most spontaneous painting of the lot. This one had to happen. The dark, sticky muck, accumulated over years of stifled intent, had to seep out and be expunged.

Dead faces, long forgotten memories, moments of embarassed pause - resurface and drown while the cathartic process seeps diagonally across the canvas.

A need to live by the brush, and probably to die for - and to paint in colors other than black. The wizened old mind is juxtaposed to the vulnerable freshness of a very young soul - one, which perhaps is just begining to find some vision.
