While on an archeological excursion, billionaire and adventurer Andrew Hartford unearths a crown that he believes is the mystical Corona Aurora. However, the jewels that accompany the Corona Aurora seem to be missing. Upon returning home to San Angeles, Hartford discovers that he has indeed obtained the Corona Aurora and realizes that it could spell doom for not only Earth, but the universe, were it to fall into evil hands.
Now Hartford must scour the globe and find the Corona's five jewels. Using his intelligence and vast wealth, he constructs extremely advanced technology and machinery, and entrusts it to an elite team he has assembled to track down the gems. After having their DNA enhanced and being given extraordinary powers to further assist them, the team sets out on their mission and are eventually joined by a sixth member: A humanoid alien with his own agenda. However, they aren't the only ones after the powerful crystals, as many evildoers lurk in the shadows waitng for their chance to seize the day and set their agendas into motion.
It's a global race between the less-than-brotherly siblings Moltor and Flurious, the devious ninjas Kamdor and Miratrix, the scheming Fearcats and the next generation of Power Rangers to decide the fate of everything that is. Who will ultimately be the first to recover the Corona's missing gems? Will the Rangers be able to spare the world from certain doom? Or will the forces of evil conquer all?
