I can’t really believe I’m finally going to be doing this, after all these years of planning. Ever since I was in grade five, my friends and I have been planning to make a role-play story like this. I’m really excited… and rather nervous… This isn’t what you’d call your typical fantasy story, after all.
Sure, there are Were-Beasts, Vampires, Demons, Angels, Half-Bloods, Zombies, Ghosts… The list could go on forever. But the whole basis of this isn’t so much about people with magical powers, or super-strength, who fight dragons, monsters and/or bad guys. This story is a sharp look at humanity, and what it means to be alive, whether you’re black or white, man or woman, human or otherwise. Not only that, but it’s also a look at our beliefs, and whether the existence of good and evil really is as obvious as it seems.
The characters are also in sharp contrast, as well. Though certain characters are very similar in their overall personalities, their own past experiences alter them in subtle, but increasingly obvious ways. As the plot continues the change and grow physically and emotionally, as they try to find their way through a world filled with chaos, corruption, loss, and secrets.
This story itself has nestled itself in my brain for the past six years+ and after such a long time you’d think that I’d know exactly how it’s going to turn out. The fact is, however, that I haven’t got a clue. It’s not simply because I’ve been thinking about the details more than the actual plot line, or that I was merely too lazy to think of how all this is really going to end; it’s because each of the characters in this story have their own Creator. Nanaki is my character, but there are many others who are based on actual living people. I will have to eventually post a list of everyone, but for now I’ll just add notes on the ends of the chapters when they appear.
Much love to you all,
Nanaki S. Everblaze
