~Mission Statement~

The mission of Reverend Bartholomew Banks is to lead an organization that meets the needs of the total man, offering opportunities for all constituents to play an active role in decision making.  My goal is to build a convention that strives for achievement and excellence in the following ways:

*Traditional – those values and practices that are anchored in the African-American Baptist heritage, but those not in conflict with New Testament faith and practices.

*Biblical – The principles and practices that reflect the nature and mission of the New Testament church in particular and the Holy Bible in general, e. g. Keeping the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37 – 40) and Fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19, 20).

*Progressive – Enhancing the work of the State Convention without forsaking our Traditional values and practices, or Compromising the nature and mission of the New Testament Church.

~Platform~

  • Have a purpose and not “just meeting to meet”

  • Have inclusion rather than exclusion of all Pastors

  • Develop a Strategic Plan for the Convention

  • Not money driven, ministry focused

  • Provide more assistance to the local church (spiritual guidance, educational resources as requested)

  • Plan to address the needs of Pastors and Churches, i.e., health insurance, retirement, etc.

  • Accelerate the liquidation of debt on Lakeland Property and obtain a return on investment

  • Aggressive actions to utilize J.C. Sams facility

  • Regular meetings with all Pastors

  • Organizational structure to maximize convention planning & implementation

  • Survey the constituency to determine what the convention could do to better serve Churches

  • Combine our voices to speak to the local, state & national governments

  • Have an open door for all Pastors.
