Intermediate Care of Magical Creatures

Taught by Professor Guinevere Meredith

Welcome!

Hello Students and welcome to the Care of Magical Creatures website! My name is Professor Guinevere Meredith and I shall be teaching Intermediate Care of Magical Creatures. Within this website you will find valuable information on what shall be taught, homework assignments and as well as other things. I shall update this site frequently to keep you up-to-date on anything new. Meaning that it is your responsibility to look back on this website for any references that you may have. All role playing shall be done in the forum since this site only serves as a reference to answer any questions that I may ask in the classroom.

Throughout the course we will be both learning and interacting with many of the creatures that one might find in the magical world.Being that this is the intermediate course we will be dealing with slightly more dangerous creatures then you did in your Basic Care of Magical Creatures class.By the end of the course students will be able to easily identify and know how to properly care for creatures such as fire crabs, nifflers, and kneazles.

Homework assignments shall be given, which will consist of easy questions about the creature we are studying. No worries it won't take long to complete. This is a role play site so this class is mostly hands on, meaning that your participation grade is vital for passing the course. In order for things to run smoothly notebooks shall be set up were you can post class notes and to show the progress of the creature that you are caring for. Finally, the most important thing is to have fun and to let your creativity take over.

Classroom Rules

Care of Magical Creatures will not take place in your regular classroom. It will take place outdoors near the forbidden forest. Now, no need to fret since the creatures we will be working on are quite tame and passive.Well, at least they are most of the time. There  of course, are always the safety precautions. Always and I mean Always listen to my instructions, last thing you want is to spend the evening in the hospital wing. There are only a set of simply rules, which I think are pretty easy to follow.

  •  Do not stray too far from you designated working station.
  • No mocking or abusing the creatures you are working with. Not only is this cruel towards the creature, but you may get bitten. (Well, depending what we're working on.)
  • If needed gloves or any other sort of protection may be needed when working with creatures.
  • Always and I can't stress this enough, make sure the cages in which the creatures and held are securely locked.
Other than your regular classroom rules of completing your homework assignments, respecting the professor and each other, that about covers it for the rules. Just make sure to follow the rules and use some common sense and everything will work out accordingly. If you don't follow the simple rules above you shall first be given a warning. Next offense docking of points, and finally for a third offense detention. (This of course depends on what rules were broken. i.e. disrespecting the professor or other students will automatically dock points or detentions will be given as I see fit.
