Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries started off the season great, celebrating their 10th year anniversery.
This league was started off by a man with a dream. 10 years ago Raymond Whiten Sr, started BCWB, 10 years the program is still running and improving week by week.
The day was started off with an incredible speech from Kevin Curley, the coach of McDaniel College, where former play Dwayne Whiten Jr attends.
Also, BCWB got a visit from the Mayor , who spoke to the players and coaches, then awarded and congradulated Mr. Whiten Sr, a trophy for his accomplishment and success with this non-profitable league.
This year each player recieved upgraded jerseys, and a pair of matching shorts to go with their uniform. The uniform was a great new look fo
It was a really nice day outside, and everybody was just enjoying themselves.
All the kids, coaches, and parents had a blast.
When Trinity Dorsey was asked whats she enjoys most about coming to the park is that "Its like a family reunion. I love the atmosphere. Everyone comes out and supports eachother."
When Junior Board member, Gayon Sampson was asked how he felt the day went, he replied "I feel today was one of the best opening days ever, despite the gnats", he said jokingly.
Opening Day was fantastic and everybody looks forward to week 2, of this 10th year anniversery.
