Pritchard's Roost

The Old Bat Himself.

NEWS AND SUCH
_______________________
Well, the show went off fluidly!... Er.. Maybe not so fluidly, as I could not use the restroom the entire day, due to me costume...

Anyway, HorrorFind Weekend 2007 was pretty damn neat this year, as I had finally finished me "Pritchard"(Bad Ass Bat) costume in time, stilts and all.

About every 2 minutes, I had to pose for pictures... and It took a lot of effort just to walk about 100 feet without someone asking to record or pose with me. I swear, I set a record.

Another amusing part of the day was having been drug off to have an interview with the radio station "KROK-Q"(Sp?).. They asked me a long series of questions ranging from my favorite movie monster, to if I would vote for Clinton. (The public wants to know the bat's opinion, you do know!)

Costume contest-wise, I won 1st place, and Best in Show. "Best in Show" is basically the greatest costume of all the separate categories... Yeah. I seriously didn't expect to win shit this year, but hey, I ain't bloody complaining!

After I managed to fight my way down the red carpet, I could finally take a freaking break... And about 10 minutes after I sat down, Low and behold, Udo Kier marches himself over with a gang of cameramen and photographers.. and fans. He was drunk. Really drunk. I didn't quite know what to expect, but he finally slugged out the words, "Kizzez fur the cameraz," in that german accent of his. Now, I had a prosthetic on.. and see, you should be kissing drunk german actors with those things glued to your face. Eh.. Oh well.

The next day, I wandered back into the convention without my costume or anything. Just me.. Though I'm pretty weird looking as it is.. but whatever. I had at least five people extremely perplexed at HOW I was able to walk around in a boiling hot costume, in which I could not move my neck at all, and walk/run/jump on stilts for an entire day.. which may have been 17 or so hours, considering I had to wake up at 4 in the morning to get into the costume and do all the makeup. ...To this moment, I have no clue HOW I was able to do it either, but I guess I pulled it off.

If you want to see the thing in action, you can check it out on my YouTube account: [link]

Also, seeing as I have and will not upload every single one of the photos that was taken of the costume, you may view them on my Photobucket: [link]

Bad Ass Bat(Me), was featured in Fangoria magazine this month!!!
Grand news, eh?
Here's what is even grander, the photo of me was A FULL PAGER!
I am absolutely amazed, but in an absolutely good way.
If you are for some odd reason interested in buying the magazine, it is #263 with "28 Weeks Later" on the cover.

One other thing needs to be cleared up about the costume. No. It is most certainly NOT a fursuit.

______________

First off, I'm in the process of making my Pritch bodysuit, though after a few randomly bad and expensive accidents, it will take much longer then previously expected. The costume itself may need to be toned down a bit due to my now-tight budget, but my main hope is that I will still be able to purchase 'Power-rizer' stilts for the project. The dealer that plans on selling me the stilts seems to be very unreliable with replying to my email, or even my offers to BUY the stilts. Plus, seeing as my deadline is a little before August 2007, I'm running over the edge of the razor with this. Hopefully, if things work out, you'll be seeing me in my Pritch costume during my August-September conventioning 'season'.

_____________

It's being speculated that I may start a donation-thing for the project, and thanks to the people that brought it to my attention that they would donate some cash to help me out if I did. I'm not much of a person to randomly take handouts like that, but if it gets to the point I really need it to continue, then it just might be the case.

_____________

I will soon upload the sketches, designs, and ideas for the new Pritchard costume that is in the works.

OTHER RANDOM STUFF

It is for sure that I will be attending HorrorFind's Weekend of Horrors, Baltimore MD. One thing that is not for sure is if I can get the costume done in time... If anyone else is going, email me at badassbat@hotmail.com, and see you there!
