- Basketball in my eyes!

Basketball has always been important in my life as a child, because of course I play it for extra curicualar activity in school. All the time when I was a little younger than 8, my dad would always say that it is my destiny to play this game. To dribble an orange leather ball down all the hard wood into a goal was my destiny and I was to play it for life even if I dont make it to the WNBA. At that age, I thought it was my dad's destiny for me to play basketball, but it wasn't, and of course I know that playing basketball isn't just about making the basket and dribbling down the floor. It's about knowing your footwork on the floor, how you are supposed to hold your hands when you shoot the ball, how to know when someone is coming up behind you to foul or steal the ball from you, or how to line the tiny hole on the free throw line up to the basketball hoop. All of this didn't make since to me when I was little but now I know it does. Ever since this summer I have been motivated to be the best basketball player i could be. My dad might not see the fire within me but it's slowing kindling.

When I get out on that floor, it's like getting on a rollercoater. I'm terrified but at the same time I can hardly hold in on the excitment. The feel of the ball in my hand I feel like i could be anyone. Although I haven't been taking control like I should be I feel like when I'm back in school in that basketball game everyone is going to know who I am. Basketball is that important to me.
