
In the 3rd century AD the High King Crtcstach established the Fianna to protect himself from forgien invaders. To lead them he chose his son Finn, his Stewart Caloite McRonan Chieftain of the Clan Ronan and Olson. These were the most fierce fighters the times had seen. You can read more about the Fianna in the Olsamic Tales. After King Crtcstach died his son Finn Took over the throne. Caloite traveled Ireland with St. Patrick recounting tales of the battles of the Fianna as St. Patrick converted the preformed his miracles. Whether you believe the tales or not. One fact remains: these stories were passed down verbally from one generation to another, granted the deeds were embelished the names remain intact. Through-out the middle-ages and modern history many Ronans were Nobleman, Warriors, Bishops, Scribes, Stewarts, Princes and Abbotts.
