BAND HISTORY
The band was formed in August 2002 when a few of the members had left the Highlander Accordion Band and decided to form a new flute band which would be called the PRIDE OF THE NORTH FLUTE BAND. After 9 Months of practising the band done there first parade consisting of 9 flutes, 2 side drummers and a bass drummer in black pants and white polo shirts on St Georges Day. Then by the 12th July the band had raised the money to buy new instruments and a new uniform which was orange polo shirts with the bands badge on and navy blue pants with a silver stripe down the leg and we walked with 1 mace bearer, 1 flag carrier, 3 side drummers a bass drummer and 12 fluters.In 2004 the band got a new uniform which is royal blue hats, red shirts and royal blue pants with a white and red stripe down the leg.The band has now got 4 flag carriers, 2 mace bearers,7 side drummers, 2 bass drummers, 17 fluters ,2 cymbal players and 3 marshalls. Since the band has started we have walked in Corby,Blackpool and have also played in Burton, Chesterfield,Mansfield and Sheffield for different Rangers supporters clubs.
The band have had 2 of there own band parades.
The band would like to thank the Highfield Loyalists F.B and The Bootle Village Pipe Band for all the help and support since the band has started and also everyone who has supported us over the 3 years we have been formed
