As the name suggests this system consists of two parts - a nappy and a wrap. The nappy is the absorbent part and the wrap is the waterproof cover designed to keep the clothes dry. this is possibly the most popular system and there's a wide range of washable napies available - from prefold ( a folded cotton pad) through to terries and on to shaped (similar in style to disposables but made from terry or cotton and available in various sizes). The wraps, made from soft, durable fabrics come in awide range of styles, colours and designs. These nappies are sometimes called 'Birth to Potty' nappies. They come in one size which adjusts to fit as the child grows. Some adjust with poppers, some with velcro and some with a combination of the two. As with the two piece systems, these nappies are used with wraps. It is the less expensive option to buy as you will only need to buy different sizes of wap as your child grows, the nappies should last until your child is potty trained.

A Onelife onesize nappy
Similar to a disposable nappy in design, this reusable nappy has a built in wrap. You will need to buy different sizes, but many people prefer the convenience of an all-in-one system.

Sometimes know as 'Stuffables' these nappies can be stuffed with an insert of your choice - pre-fold, terry or micro fibre pads. Great for using at night because they are usually lined with fleece which keeps your child nice and dry. I send these ready stuffed to nursery as the staff find them easy to use
