Introduction

Drum & Bugle Corps Making a Home in the KC Metro.

Welcome to Prairie Sound Drum & Bugle Corps.  We are the Senior/All Age Drum & Bugle Corps of Kansas and the Kansas City Metro Area.

Our purpose is to develope a competative Drum & Bugle Corps that will compete in the Drum Corps Associates and Drum Corps International Senior/All Age catagory and entertain the people of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

Senior/All Age?  Well, these terms describe our membership as being people of all ages.  We will accept as members,  persons 18 years and above and persons younger than 18 with the sponsorship of their Parent or Legal Guardian.  We encourage Family members to sign up together so they can share the experience of performing in Drum & Bugle Corps.  (Family Corps)

Experience Level?  We need experienced and novice performers alike.  Don't be afraid to come out to a rehearsal pick up a bugle, drum or flag and give it a try.  We will have people who are just starting out, people who haven't played for years and those who are at the peak of their skills.

Equipment? We have a full array of two and three valve G Bugles in the voices of Soprano, Mellophone, Baritone and Contra Bass.  Our Percussion equipment includes Snare Drums, Quint Tenors and Bass Drums all matched and all high quality Dynasty Brand.

Our Practices are held one Saturday a month for the full Corps.  Our new rehearsal site is Life Church 16111 S. Lone Elm Olathe, KS 66062.

Our First DCA Exhibition

Brass Hysteria 2008!

We made it to Denton, TX with 7 Brass and a Drum Major.  We were not the smallest corps there! We performed a standstill performance on the front edge of the field with music.

Our 2009 shows did not work out due to several factors.  We used the down time to regroup and tie up some administrative loose ends.

Our 501(c)3 application is now in and we are awaiting word from the IRS.

We will continue 2009 with local Parades and appearances.

Our show for 2010 will be a tweeked version of  "Kansas City a Suite in Blue"

We are looking for for Brass Players in all Sections.  We will be restarting our Drum Line with the goal of adding it to the Corps for 2010 field shows. We will also be enlarging our Color Guard and addng rifles.

If you have  a good attitude, patience, perservearance and are interested in helping to build the Drum Corps of Kansas and the Kansas City Metropolitan Area refer to the contact page and contact the Director.
