PPC: Department of Cool and Unusual Punishment

Somehow, you have stumbled across DCUP!

Run, little hobbit! Run like the wind!

What is DCUP? I hear you cry. Well, I don’t really, because this is the Internet and I don’t have the technology to eavesdrop on you… but you know what I mean.

DCUP – short for Department of Cool and Unusual Punishment – is a branch of the PPC dealing freelance with general crimes against Canon, including Mary-Sues, bad crossovers and (shudder) bad slash. Our trademarks are a healthy and overactive imagination, which unfortunately does not appear thus far to spill over into departmental decoration, and a nitpicky attention to detail; our Head of Department is the Sadistic Bladderwrack. The office rumour is that he is sadistic to alleviate being a bladderwrack.

Let me introduce myself. I am Agent Twiggy, or, if you prefer absurdly long names, Twig-Onto-And-Amiably-Discourage-Heretic-Plots Papaya. (It’s Omnian. Shut up.) My best-known continuum is Lord of the Rings, although I’ll do work in Discworld, Harry Potter and The Hobbit too. I founded DCUP, and on a totally unrelated note, I’ve made it all the way through Celebrian and partway through My Inner Life (although I’m not sure if that’s something to be proud of).

I have just recently joined the PPC, and, as I like writing stuff (and have read LotR way too many times), I considered it my duty to record and write up in story form all the adventures I took part in.

This was the result. Enjoy.

Note: this site is quite definitely under construction. The links should work, but they'll be changing just as soon as I can wrangle a decent amount of time on the computer, and the whole thing's undergoing a major rehaul anyway. Sorry in advance for any problems!

My fan fiction, fresh from the Pit of Voles. I'm afraid updates are far between, as Mum's blocked ff.net on our computer. Sigh.

01/02/05 I've moved some stuff over here from Angelfire, gone through it and edited it to hopefully make it better. Took me long enough. Now, I really must go to bed. x.x
22/12/04 Today I start recording updates. And it's Yule by Shire Reckoning! *throws tinsel*

Embarrassingly, I don't actually own most of this site. DCUP is but a spinoff of the marvellous Protectors of the Plot Continuum, the campaign against badfic by Jay Thorntree and Acacia Byrd (such names. Genius). The Lord of the Rings and all related therof excetera are the brainchildren of the really very great Prof. JRR Tolkien, who writes rather well; so too do Harry Potter and everything in that vein belong to the fertile imagination of JK Rowling. I don't think any of the pictures belong to me, either. The cool green typewriting font labels are from the ACME Label Maker. The various Mary-Sues, Marty-Stus and assorted cuttings of badfic belong to their authors, whom I shall send a small box of ashes (unless, of course, I cannot find their home addresses or I forget).

I don't think I ripped off anything else, did I?
