ADOPT A PET |
The first thing to do is to adopt your very first pet. Currently, the Mayor of New Barkston will give $300 PB to users who adopt their first pet. And if you want to get another pet, you will have to pay $450 PB. I suggest that you only get one for now. Once you have been playing PowerPets for a while and you are successful in caring for your first pet, then you can consider getting another pet. There are four places where you can adopt pets. The City Pound, the Xiang Pound, the Kimberoo Pound and the Public Shelter.

ESTABLISH A GOAL |
You should set a goal that you would like to achieve for yourself while playing PowerPets. Some of the goals that you may want to do are Strongest Pet, Most Total Number of Armor, Most Read Books, and Most Number of Items in Shops, Top Author, and Top Referrer. Take a look at the Bureau of Statistics to see which one you could possibly achieve. You could even create your very own unique goal. |
READ FREE BOOKS |
Moreover, the Library offers some books that you may want to read up on. There is the History of New Barkston, and the History of Padam Snide. In addition, the Librarian recommends that you read How Could You, Shelter Christmas and the newest addition to the free books called Ode to Max. |
GET FREE ITEMS |
Since you do not have a lot of money yet, there are two places that you can get free items namely Padams Shack and Northern Woods. At Padams Shack, you can get an item and PB of up to $5000PB. In the Northern Woods, you can either grab a Radioactive Slime, Super Radioactive Slime, and Ultra Radioactive Slime. Before, these slimes used to be just blobs but now they come in glass containers. After you have the slime, you can either go to the Slime Compactor or feed it to your pet. If you go to the Slime Compactor, you get $250 PB for a Radioactive Slime, $1000 PB for a Super Radioactive Slime, and $2500 for an Ultra Radioactive Slime. Feeding it to your pet will make your pet’s strength increase by one point. You would need to visit Padams Shack and Northern Woods every three hours to avail of this opportunity.
In addition, always remember to put everything you have on hand into your closet. This will make PowerPets run faster. Keep in mind that you can only have a maximum of 60 items in your Items-On-Hand. PowerPets prefers that your closet contained a maximum of 3000 items only. |
OPEN A SHOP |
After stocking up on items into your closet, if you think you have more than 3000 items, you should think about opening your first shop. Opening the first shop will cost you $500 PB and succeeding shops will cost $7500 PB to open. You should choose wisely, where you want your shop to open. Initially your shop can hold up to 10 items. Depending on where you opened your shop, you would have to initially pay between $100 PB to $1000 PB to increase your shop stock size and every time you increase your shop size $10 PB is added. In addition, bear in mind that the TaxMan will always take money from your shop sales. Depending where you opened your shop, the TaxMan can take as much as 6% to as little as 2% of your shop sales. |
SAVE MONEY |
You should open an account in the NBIC bank. At first, you can only make use of the Short Term Savings Account this account lets you withdraw from the bank immediately and with no fee for immature withdrawals. This account has an annual interest rate of 6%. In addition, you are responsible for cashing out the daily interest that you acquire. Bear in mind that you would need to wait for twenty-four hours to pass before you can collect the daily interest. As you acquire more money, I would suggest that you invest in the Long Term Savings Bonds Account that will give you a choice of higher interest rates. The downside to this is that it will need to lock your money for a certain amount of time before it can start gaining interest. Nevertheless, the advantage is getting more money after a year in the account. You can gain money from as little as 8% in a year of your initial bond to as big as 25% of your initial bond. Although the bank also offers Portfolio, it is for the moment unavailable to users because the Stock Market has not been finished yet. |

DO JOBS |
Another way to earn money is to do jobs at the Job Agency. However, you would need to have a Job Agency Power Card to do a job. Originally, the only place you can get a Job Agency Power Card free is from Gekkie. Now, Rex the Bulldog gives out a Job Agency Power Card once in a while. Sometimes, Gekkie will come near you, sticks his paws near you picket and leaves a Job Agency Power Card. Of course, some user shops sell them but I suggest waiting for Gekkie or for Res the Bulldog to give them to you. Should you decide to do a job, you will have two hours in order to complete them. For successfully completing a job, your employer gives you Power Bucks (PB) and either a Lucky Silver Coin, a Supper Saturday Draw Card, a Scratch 4 Power Card, a Power Picks Card, and a Break and Win Big Card. |

DO QUESTS |
Here is a ranking of all the quests available at PowerPets in order from the easiest to the hardest.
Xiang Zookeeper, Gekkies Greed and Creepy Caves are considered advanced user quests as you would need to have a lot of money in order to accomplish the quest. In addition, the above quests can be divided into two categories. The first category being Quests for books/scrolls and the second category being Quests for puzzle pieces.
Here is a ranking of the Quests for books/scrolls in order from the easiest to the hardest.
