Pongo is a persistent and lovable dalmatian who lives happily with his owner, Roger. Except for one thing: Pongo is bored with his bachelor life. He's determined to find a partner for himself and a wife for Roger. Well, his persistence pays off one day when Pongo spots the most perfect spots he's ever seen -- and they belong to a female dalmatian named Perdita.
Pongo arranges a chance meeting. Lucky for him, Perdita belongs to Anita, who is naturally perfect for Roger. Roger and Anita instantly fall in love and get married -- all the better for Pongo and Perdita!
Pongo eventually makes a great father ... proud, loyal, and protective. Cruella De Vil and her cronies prove no match for this brave father's love.

Perdita is the caring mother of 15 dalmatians. She and Pongo are proud of their puppies. They enjoy their big family and treasure the simple moments, like watching the puppies watch television. Perdita is relieved and excited when Roger and Anita decide to keep all the puppies. Like Pongo, she is loyal and protective, traveling great lengths to find the puppies when they are stolen.

"We're not selling the puppies! And that's final!"
Don't come between Roger Radcliff and his dogs ... especially if you're Cruella DeVil. Roger is a kind-hearted man, but he'll do anything to protect his adorable pets. Although he's a mild-mannered musician, when spurred into action, Roger won't let anything stop him -- neither rain nor sleet nor snow ... nor Cruella.
Roger is a songwriter, and in the course of our story we have the pleasure of hearing his songs, "Dalmatian Plantation" and "Cruella DeVil," inspired by the dreaded villainess. Roger loves to sing for his wife, Anita. Their puppies like to listen too!
Of course, at the start of our story, Roger is the loving owner of just one dalmatian, Pongo. It's not until the end of the story that he owns, well, 101 of them!

"I'm afraid we can't give them up."
Anita, Roger's wife, is charming and good-hearted. She sees the good in people, even horrible characters like Cruella DeVil. Anita can be stubborn when she knows she's right, and when 15 adorable new puppies arrive in her home, she insists on keeping them all, despite Cruella's solicitations!
Like Roger, at the start of our story Anita owns just one dalmatian, Perdita. But soon their family will grow ... and grow!

"I'll get even. Just wait"
Everyone knows Cruella DeVil. She's the meanest, scariest, most cruel person in all of London. Cruella is capable of lying, stealing, plotting ... well, you get the picture.
With one half of her hair white and the other half black, Cruella thinks she would look stunning in a brand-new coat -- a coat made of baby dalmatians! (We told you: She's mean.)
With her cold, wicked smile, her pursuit of the ultimate in fashion, and her really bad driving habits, we can think of only one nice thing to say about Cruella. She looks great with mud on her face!

Jasper and Horace are Cruella DeVil's henchmen, who steal the dalmatians. Jasper is a tall, thin fellow and Horace is a plump man. Like Cruella, they're evil. But unlike Cruella, evil doesn't make them smart. Their theft of the puppies is a clumsy affair, and they make horrible watchdogs -- er, we mean dog watchers. Either way, Jasper and Horace would rather drink and watch TV than watch Cruella's stolen pups.
