A brief history of  Polly Locomotive Kits

The first Polly locomotive was designed and built by JGS Clarke around 1985. He manufactured them in Denbigh, Wales and the first locos were tested on the Mold Model Engineering Society track.

In 1999 Andy Clarke (no relation) bought the Polly range of locomotives, since then two new models have been developed. The Polly V is the result of a collaboration between Andy Clarke and Geerlig Voogt and one is featured on our home page. They were so pleased with the P V that they went on to produce the Polly VI  a tender loco, an example of which can be seen if you link to Polly ME on the Links page, and go to their Home page.

That's about it for now, but take a look across the Channel, through the Gallery, to see what is possible when you mate two Polly I chassis with a Polly VI boiler!

If any one can offer any more information about the history and development of Polly locomotives please contact us by the address on the contact page, thanks.
