Picture me shrugging right now and you have the right idea - there simply
is not a whole lot to say about me. I am supposedly sarcastic,
cynical, utterly insane, odd, etc. - with a sense of humour fit to strip paint, so,
well, I leave that to you to interpret as you will.
As stated, I am a full-time student, and as such, the academic lifestyle does take priority. My academic year runs from around September to May/early June, and I therefore ask that you be understanding of delay during that time period. In all honesty, it does neither of us any good whatsoever for me to fail all of my classes because I had to work. Once that happens, my work dies, anyway, so please smile, nod, and keep that in mind...
I am one of the strange equestrian crowd (being one of them, I am allowed to say that...) and own four horses on the West Coast of the U.S., so I spend a rather disproportionate amount of time injured, having been thrown or run over or gotten stuck fixing some emergency or another... so if I cannot respond to your email right away, it is not anything personal. Blame my horses. Or rather, not, but you get the picture.
That aside... I got into editing years ago, but it was exceedingly small-scale, running for a few close friends by request. I love English and writing, so I figured I would come in and see if people wanted help; if you do not want mine, then why are you here?
I love nothing more than having
someone's writing improve as I watch subsequent submissions come in. It has
happened multiple times, and it is always nice to see. It picked up more a year or two ago, so I left a
profile up in various places for people to run through and began receiving more consistent
requests. As has to be, I then got sick of several of the places I was running at
and decided to move, so I actually gave myself a name, finally got around to getting a licence, and came
here. It is a lot less confusing to run through the information
here, rather than in one enormous post, so I suppose it benefits all
of us.
It is still run off of my laptop and on my own time, so no, I do not have
automated email notifications and a team of sixty people managing dates and performing secondary proofing
for me. Granted, that would be nice, but hey...
Over the years, I picked up an interest in language. As stated, though I work solely in English, I do have a basic understanding of Spanish, Italian, and some German and Latin. It makes for a rather convenient working opportunity...
Now, please do not sue me; see the disclaimer at the bottom of the home page. If you sue me, well, I am a student whose random bits of spare cash go to the bank, and seeing's it is just me that is running this place, you really will not get much out of the lawsuit... The horses are technically under my parent's name, so you might, at best, get a couple CDs and a book or two... Perhaps not even... So keep that in mind!
