OK lets get started...I am first going to talk to you about
'the beliefs about the kingdom of God' as seen in the time of Jesus
(that is the past a long long time agooo=])
Here what they believe:(these points are very important try to remember them all so you will be sorted if they come up in your exam)
- To Join the kingdom of God you must have faith, believe in God and ACCEPT God's rules(very important)
- God's Kingdom is different from all other Kingdoms.
- It is said in the PSALMS that God is the king of Israel
- God's Kingdom wont come in full reality until the Messiah arrives to bring in God's Kingdom and bring all nations together to accept God's rules..(pretty long but just try to remember the Letter 'R' for reality and it will click a sensor in the brain to remember the whole senetnce:D)
- God controls Everything(preety easy right?)
- God sustains creation(wow thats an easy 1 too!=])
- Amongst the signs of God's Kindom would be the healing of diseases, forgivenss o sins, the ending of the power of evil.
FINITO people that is it!!!! SO I know it may seem like WHAT?!?!?! i cant remeber all hose...but heres the thing youve gotts if your wanting a good grade so just go over them everyday and yoll sooner or later remember them!!!

Jesus brought In God's Kingdom
How did he do it?-By driving out demons, by healing diseases, by forgiving sins!
The Kingdom of God has come due to Jesus' death and resurection which brough Salvation(that means going to heavenn) and eternal life!
Some believe the kingdom of God wont come until Jesus returns in all of his glory!
Jesus brought the arrival of the Messiah(yes that was him!!)
By driving out evil spirits Jesus ended Satans(Bad Bad satan) Kingdom and brought God's Kingdom!
Now we'll move onto the TITLEs that are given to jesus!
The 3 you will need to know for your exam are:
SON OF MAN
SON OF GOD
MESSIAH(CHRIST)
(I have colour coded all this info just to not get you confused with all these titles)
Okay..lets start with Son of Man!
- Son of man was a name used by Jesus of himself.
- Some Scholars think It was used to avoid him from gettng into troubles with the authorities(for example if he called himself son of God, they will class it as lashpemy and it would be their ideal reason to arrest him or do worse...they were so sly always trying to arrest him!!!)
- Other Scholars think Jesus used as a specific messianic title that reflected His understanding of his role as God's Messiah!
When does Jesus use this title of himself you may question?!?!?!! Well if you remember he uses it in in front of the High Priest (he as the jewish leader at the time of jesus) where he says: ' you will see the SON OF MAN seated on the righ of the almighty coming with the clouds of heaven'. There you go your proof of where he used it but you can find other places in the gospel where he used it too!
Next SON OF GOD.
the main meanings of the title 'son of god' are as followed (try to remember these important points)
For some Jews it is a messiani title follonwing on from references to Israel as God's son by Prophets such as Hosea(who?!?!:S:D)
for other jews it is a name given to a very holy jew or jewish miracle worker.
And for the Greeks and Romans it signifes a divine nature.
Not bad hey guys....I mean theres not a lot there to remember so dont stress!!!!!
The title Messiah(christ)
Messiah means the anointed one
The messiah is said to bring in God's Kingdom
He would be a decendant of David
He would have power over sin, evil spirits and nature
he would establish God's Kingdom.
Who did all of this??????? JESUS did!!!!
However Jesus taught his disciples once Peter recognised him as the Messiah, that Jesus must suffer, be killed and then rise 3 days later! So thats what Jesus saw himself as the Messiah who must suffer, die and rise from the dead to bring salvation(thats going to heaven again)

they also believe the death of jesus has saved people from the power of sin and their faith reconciles them to God.
