My name is Madison (my friends call me Madi) and I was born in July 1982. I love reading and writing poetry, of course, and I also enjoy rollarblading, going for walks and spending time with my friends and family, especially my nieces and nephews...they're the joy of my life!

I am a cancer so I am normally described as deeply emotional and intuitive, and my top concern is family and my friends. I'm sometimes thought of as a homebody because I prefer to stay in rather than go out on the town. I can be moody, drawing into my protective shell if things get too intense around me...I don't handle stress well at all. Some of my friends say that I can be strong-willed at times and that I like to get my own way, but come on who doesn't? All in all I'd like to think that I am a kind person with a big heart, I like to make other people happy before myself. I don't trust easy, but now a days who does? That's just the way life is.

My number one goal in life is to make some sort of a difference in the world some how. At first I thought maybe I would adopt a child when I got older and settled down with the right person but after I had my daughter, Kaydence, in October 2006 I realized my purpose in this world is far from what I had ever anticipated. My daughter was stillborn and I have come to learn that even though my heart still aches to this day for losing her my purpose here on earth has become a little more clearer to me. I have made it my goal in life, now, to never let Kaydence be forgotten or any other baby that was taken too soon. I want to help make October 15th officially "Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day" in all of Ontario, Canada as well as eventually have the MISSing Angels Bill passed here as well. It is my mission, not only for my daughter & other babies, but also for all the bereaved parents that have suffered the heartache of having to say goodbye to thier babies before ever getting a chance to know them outside the womb.

I started writing when I was in grade 11 English Writing. My teacher, Mr. Stokes, saw something in my writing that I didn't and constanting pushed and encouraged me to dig deeper within myself so that I could express myself though poetry. Most of my work dates back from 2000 up until now.
I feel that poetry is a beautiful art of words and helps to express deep emotions that we, as human beings, would not normally express.
