Statement
Poetica Magazine is dedicated to publishing poetry,
prose and short stories that will be of relevance to Jewish life.
We are looking for works that are inspired by fresh insights
evoked by natural and cultural experiences.
They may speak in many different voices that communicate,
surprise or disturb and that bear witness to the world in which we live.
Currently
We do not consider
works on the Holocaust
again in late 2010
Guidelines:
- submit 1-3 poems at a time
- each poem is limited to two-three pages
- each short story is limited to 3-4 pages
- submissions should be typed, double/single-spaced, Times Roman font (12)
on 8.5 x 11 paper with name, address, phone and email address noted
on the upper right side
- please include a brief bio with each submission
- reply by email (if you do not have one, please include SASE)
- e-mail submissions accepted from international writers only (no attachments)
- we respond within a month or two
- time between acceptance and publication can be up to one year
- writers retain all rights to their work
- submissions are read September - May (off June/July/August)
- we seldom comment on rejected poems
- we no longer consider previosuly published works
- sample issues are available at $7.00 each + $1.45 shipping costs

All work accepted will be considered for future print editions or anthologies. We read and consider each submission with care and integrity. Although it may take up to 1-2 months for us to reach an editorial decision, we’ll do our best to respond promptly to submissions. After 2 months, please feel free to query.
