About the event
A 7.5 mile walk (approx 3.5 hours) starting at Baildon Train station. From Baildon Train station we walk into the historic Baildon Village centre and up to the highest point on Baildon Moor. We walk along Shipley Glen near the Bracken Hall Countryside Centre and up past Crook Farm Caravan site and Dobrudden caravan site, walking round the shoulder of the area of moor above Hope Farm known as Hope Hill and savouring the splendid views in all directions before dropping down past some clinker boulders (relics of the smelting which went on here long ago) to head for the golf club on the edge of Baildon village. From here we continue past the tiny hamlet of Faweather Grange and this leads onto a hidden stile and we follow Glovershaw Beck downstream above an ever deepening gulley filled with ferns and magical shadows until eventually a stile leads to a footbridge onto Shipley Glen where we will have refreshments at the Old Glen House pub.
