Plymouth City Private Installations

A section of the M.O.D. owned Devonport Dockyard was handed back to the public in late 2005, but for now development of the site has stalled. The original lighting on the 'Enclave' site is still in place, although it is now defunct since the sub station was de-commissioned.

The most interesting lantern remaining is a GEC Z8430CM on an 8m Stanton & Staveley concrete column. The lamp would originally have been 250w MBF, but it is now a 150w SON-T. The glass bowl is in perfect condition. The lantern is a lucky survivor, as nearby examples have been removed and the column sleeved. This example was missed, seemingly as its fate was pretty much sealed anyway.
