Plymouth City Mercury Lighting

Southway- An 80W MBF/U GEC Z8896 lantern on a 5m CU concrete column. The lantern is controlled by a SELC 841 photocell on the canopy. The column has a large amount of lichen on it; presumably due to its exposed location. This is now the only Mercury lantern left on the streets of Plymouth mounted on a concrete column.

Update- November 2006: the column and lantern have now been replaced. A 6m Corus column and new Urbis ZXU1 lantern are now in place. Due to modern preferences, the column has been re-sited away from the road at the back of the path.
