Plymouth City Mercury Lighting

Plymstock- A GEC Z5530B 'Brookvale Mk2' lantern on a wood pole bracket. The lantern is owned by the Parks department, so is not on the general streetlighting inventory. If it had been, it would have been replaced long ago. Control is by a part-night Venner MSQP time clock in the large GEC control box. The lantern is still painted in silverine, which is the old colour used by Plymouth city before adoption of grey in the late 1970s/early 80s.

Update- 1st November 2007: the lantern has been replaced. A brand new Urbis ZXU1 lantern complete with all-night minicell has been fitted.
