Hello there and welcome to the website of the Plymouth Gangshow! The Gangshow has been run now for over 20 years and has been very widely appreciated by those that it is known to ever since it began! Ourproducer is Carole Opie, and she never ceases to devote her time to our show. You can tell this by the results! Ever year a group of Guides and Scouts from around the Plymouth area all join together to rehearse for 6 months. The youngest members of the cast range from the ages of 5-13 and rehearse once a week for just over an hour. The intermediates normally range from the ages of 13-16, but up to the age of 18 they are normally included in this section, and the dances involved with the age group. They rehearse twice a week for a total of 4 hours over the two days. The senior members of the cst(of the age 16+) rehearse 1/2 times a week for between 2-4 hours in total. Overall there is a lot of work put into the show, all in preparation for the 4 shows we do in the Athenaeum Theatre in Plymouth. The show itself consists of songs, dances and humourous sketches which come together to make our show suitable for ALL ages and types of people! All of the cast thoroughly enjoy their time and look forward to the next year's rehearsals begin. Our show normally occurs in March/April, and the rehearsals begin in September.
