I |
‘d have to say this is probably one of the most
adventurous tales I’ve had to write, after all it’s a tale about my life.
About the life of Tetsedah Izumo. Something I’ve intended to write for a very
long time and only just got the inspiration to do now.
My story begins about 16 years ago on the planet of
Earth.
I was on the streets of Earth, living off the scraps of food that I could
salvage from the market at night. This was usual for me, because all I had in my
life to protect and serve me we’re my fists and feet, my usual weapons of
choice when encountering a scrap. That was also a usual practice of mine. I
always got into fights. Usually for my life and I still have the many scars both
physically and emotionally. Heh, looking back on it all, the black streets at
night, the sound of the wind under the moonlight, drunken laughter appearing
from the clubs at night and then the sound of bottles crashing and tables
breaking and screams of agony as warriors fought out their anger against one
another, fighting and quarrelling.
I was known as 17 back then, don’t know why, nor did I care. Simply
when everyone saw me, they would shout “17!” and wave. I would simply
wave back in recognition of their effort to even recognize me.
With all my trials and efforts on the streets of
Earth, I never actually lost a fight that is until one hot day of the desert
market streets. I woke up to find the streets empty of all life. Dust blowing
across the ground with the wind. Tumbleweed crossing my path as I stepped out
onto the streets from my place of rest. I looked yet saw no one around. This had
become a dead town in the space of a night. Suddenly a sound arose from the
silent air, I turned sharply round to see behind me a figure of rather large
stature in front of the direction of the sunlight, so all that he appeared to be
was a blur of light.
I spoke out to him, covering my face with my arm as I
tried to get a decent look at this creature,
“Who are you?”
The body remained silent,
“Answer me!”
with my voice rising to the sheer point of exasperation. Finally, it spoke,
“My name is Saruto young one.”
My only reply was one of sheer sarcasm as it was
something I did as a defense mechanism in times of crisis.
“Oh good there is some life in you, I was beginning to think you were some sort of Cabbage with legs or something.”
All I got for a reply was a chuckle from him and then
he spoke yet again...
“I’ve come for you 17.”
My expression changed then to one of slight worry, how
did he know who I was? Why was he looking for me?
“Wha...”
Saruto spoke out to me yet again,
“17 you will come with me.”
I could tell he was being serious; he was going
to take me with, or without a struggle. So, me being me, decided I would at
least make the effort. So I attacked, probably the worst mistake I’d made in
my life up till this point. With a simple turn of his body I watched helplessly
during the process of my attack as he raised his knee up into my stomach. The
force of the impact as nothing I’d ever felt before and as my attack fell with
my arms folding under into my stomach I fell hard to the ground, dust being
pushed from it to make way from myself as I groaned from both strikes, holding
my stomach in absolute agony
Looking down at me I heard him let out a faint chuckle
and I looked up, wincing with the very effort. That blow was powerful, like
nothing I’d ever felt before. Before I could even think to recover from the
blow he grabbed a hold on my collar and pulled me up in the air above him. I was
only young and small so it wouldn’t have been to hard. I stared at his eyes at
my first real defeat as he smirked, looking into my eyes to exchange the glance.
He spoke,
“Now, you will come with me.”
A second later the both of us appeared on a large
ship and having slightly recovered my failure I bought the energy to move my
neck to look around. He dropped me to what felt to be a hard cold metal floor, I
didn’t know and didn’t care, I was too busy looking around in awe at this
amazing structure before my eyes. A conversation started between the two of the
crew. It seemed weird but I could understand what they were saying. One of them
approached me on the ground and knelt down at my feet I just looked at him and
he grabbed my throat. I jerked my head back fast at the power and tension
against my neck from this hand closing itself around my neck. I did my best with
what power I could to try to release the grip but it was pointless. My face
couldn’t even look at him but I could still hear what he was saying to me even
with the extremities of pain that had befallen me,
“My name is Gogeta (Rion) McLaren, remember it
boy.”
And in response I spoke out, struggling to let the
words escape from my throat with his tight grip.
“I won’t remember much if you kill me.”
The ship seemed to erupt in a barrel of laughter and
releasing me from his grip I took in a deep sharp breath trying to recover,
slowly beginning to relax the muscles around his neck with his fingers as he
tried to clear the blocked passages down his throat. With them all continuing to
laugh I looked and winced slightly as I continued to breath sharply trying to
catch my breath.
“What’s so funny?” I
said, beginning to become more then annoyed by the hospitality I had received
unto this point, I wasn’t a king but hell I didn’t deserve this. What I did
not know at the time however was that this would this was all a test to see how
I fare against what my purpose would be in the future.
The next day I woke up, the marks of wounds from the day previous had
disappeared; this was something that had always puzzled me because I was a fast
healer. I simply put on a pair of trousers and a pair of large boots that had
been provided for me and made my way out of the room to see a hall in front of
me that consisted of many doors. So placing one foot in front of another I began
to make my way steadily down the hall, still feeling a little woozy. Passing
several doors I heard a strange noise coming from ahead. I looked and there was
nothing there and then I felt something splash against my shoulder. It was slimy
and wet. I looked up and saw what looked to be a green body that hung there
giggling to itself. I simply looked at it and before I could have time to react
I was sent down the hall once again to my door by a huge foot hitting my chin. I
wiped a trickle of blood from my chin and looked at it as it came running
towards me, its laughter echoing down the hallway. I got up fast and leaped from
the ground with my fists balled tightly, keeping his attention locked upon it.
Coming back down upon it I rammed a fist into its cheekbone and hearing it crack
upon impact, sent it flying down the hallway. Watching it crash into a door I
cupped my hands to my sides and suddenly without thought began charging ki
through into a large ball between my palms. It got up and ran towards me again,
laughing hysterically and I continued to charge this ki through into my palms as
if something was telling me to do so. I’d never done it before, never even
thought about using ki energy, I’d always used my fists in a fight but I
couldn’t stop it. My energy was continuing to charge this mass of energy into
my palms. As it reached me I quickly lunged my arms forward expecting to throw
my palms into its chest to throw it back once again I was able to throw this
mass of energy forward into a stream of ki energy. I could hear the creature
scream in agony as the blast propelled itself to destroy it. Once I heard
nothing more, I was able to cut the energy from my attack into nothing but air.
I bought my palms out in front of my face as the dust from the blast cleared.
Saruto and Gogeta came rushing out of what seemed to be two large doors next to
a glass mirror. The two of them looking at me in sheer astonishment. I just
looked and fell unconscious from the use of energy.
Waking up the next morning felt like a struggle for survival, my muscles
and bones felt like they’d been torn to shreds from the energy that I had used
the day before. Slowly I made my way to the door from about half way to the door
it felt like it had become an obstacle and I felt something in my arm suddenly
as if I had been electrocuted. I jerked my head back in a quick movement to
avoid any sparks and then bought it back only to find that my flesh had been
separated across an area of my arm to reveal what looked to be circuitry.
Suddenly everything fell into place, why I’d been naturally stronger than
everyone else back on Earth, I had never felt any emotion of almost any kind.
“I’M AN ANDROID!!” my shock and surprise echoing
themselves through my voice as it itself echoed through the halls of the ship.
Sitting down upon the bed which I had woken up upon, I looked at the open
circuitry which was sparkling and crackling away, barely noticing someone was
entering the room at the time. I was too busy thinking about certain things to
be worried about whether the figure entering the room be friend or foe. All I
heard was “So, your awake.” And instantly my eyes shot open wide at
this voice, I didn’t recognize it from the people I had met thus far, I was
expecting it to be either Saruto or Gogeta and turned my head to see a woman
standing at the end of the bed in tight clothing with long sharp Green Hair. Her
face, a picture of innocence with her body thin and slender. She looked at me,
smiled and spoke,
“My names Ryoko, we’ve been waiting for you for
a while 17.”
She already knew my name, I didn’t speak incase I appeared rude to her but I could tell she wasn’t a ‘damsel in distress’ this woman was hard and could hold her own. The message finally getting through to me I spoke out,
“Huh? Waiting for me?”
“Yes” She replied, “We knew you would be coming when your brother..”
“BROTHER?!” My mind becoming very, very confused at this point I looked at her astonishingly
“Mhmm, your brother has been fighting with Saruto for quite a while now, protecting Vegeta against those who would purge it” She was doing her best to talk to me as though she was trying to reassure me of something.
Leaping from the bed I looked at her and said, “But I don’t even have a brother, I’ve never even HAD a brother AND WHAT THE HELL IS VEGETA?” I was becoming slightly irritated at this point with the lack of explanation I was receiving. Smiling at me it was clear she was trying to calm me down and continued on with her story.
“You do have a brother 17 although he isn’t of blood. You see, I think you’ve come to realize now that you are not human, but an android. Your creator was the scientist Dr. Gero.” My face beginning to drop slightly into some form of sadness, I couldn’t explain why then and I can’t now but I wasn’t supposed to feel emotion.
“It was he who took you from your rightful home, turned you
and adopted you under a new name.” My fist
clenching as if having a mind of its own, I couldn’t stop it but needed to
release the anger somehow
“Unfortunately for him however, you didn’t last long under his control and turned on him thus killing him.” My balled fist uncoiled itself from its tight grasp and the swell red coloring that it had taken under pressure had dispersed.
“The only problem was, you lost
your memory after the incident.”
I remember my
world crashing down around me, not that I had much of one to begin with of
course, but the fact that I’d been taken as a child and turned into, well into
this. My mind beginning to bring itself to recollect the thoughts of everything
that had happened to me in the past and as I lay down on the warm soft bed I
thought to myself, ‘What
could have prevented this from originally occurring? Why was it I was actually
taken and what made me seem special over everyone else?’
But I guess I wouldn’t be finding the answers out soon and I very much doubt
that I would be finding out the answers later on in life and to this day I still
don’t know those reasons. My being of an android was the only aspect of myself
that caught the attention of Saruto for had I been a simple human being, I very
much doubt I would be where I am today. In fact, I don’t think any of this
would have actually occurred.
I bought my arm up to my face where I looked at the open flesh upon it
and bought my other hand towards it to touch it. That feeling of the touch of
soft skin as I ran my two fingers down my arm seemed almost physically real
although I knew that it wasn’t I did my best to believe it was. How could I
believe it was though? The evidence of it straight out in front of me as plain
as the sun, what I could see before me I snarled at, I was snarling at myself
for actually being like this and it comes to a point in your life where you
begin to doubt yourself as even a real being and I guess I had reached that
point. Even such as my age it seemed quite unbelievable that I existed in this
state and suddenly it all came to halt with the sound of Ryoko’s voice,
“17,
it’s time we got that arm of your fixed.”
Barely
registering what she had said, I slowly placed my arm down upon the bed for her
to tend to.
Within the training halls of the ship I was busy with Saruto, learning from his movements what I could about the Martial Arts and Ki fighting. Mimicking his movements to those of my own I found that I had ability for learning things quickly. I went off on my own after a while and began noticed as I walked past the door, Ryoko standing there watching me. I acknowledged her by giving her a slight nod and then went on to continue with the training. She returned it with a childish smile and waved. Unknown to myself however I had also caught the attention of another warrior in training. Broku, Lord of the Barren Wastelands of Vegeta.
Training became a regular thing to me upon this ship and for a month it continued and I knew I was becoming stronger every day. Still, I hadn’t seen my ‘brother’ and didn’t care to ask to be honest. He was probably away on some mission fighting or performing some act of espionage and as I had been informed he had become quite the Shinobi. Still I didn’t care to ask about him. I was only concerned with two things, why I was here and getting stronger quickly.
“17!” Saruto shouted, “Come
over here.”
I threw down a wet towel and walked over to where Saruto was stood. Facing him I had my arms crossed and looked at him straight in the face, for some reason he seemed slightly disturbed at me for some reason and for a moment he pondered in thought before once again speaking.
“Alright 17, its time for your
first lesson.”
My eyes widened immediately. I was going to be taught something? After a month of being on the ship and doing nothing but training myself and being ignored by others this one person decides it’s time for me to learn something. Well I decided after a quick moment of thought that perhaps it might be worth it in the long run so I nodded in agreement and unfolded my arms from my chest and placed them to my sides.
For two hours we went on, sparring and training until I became exhausted. My throat felt like a dry well in summer and my muscles aching from the brutality of this Saiyan. I looked up and saw him angling his body to the side and bringing his hands into the shape of an open cup. I just looked at him, wondering what he was doing and then as I saw something forming into that open cup, my eyes widened. He was gathering his ki energy into an attack. I grounded myself and waited for him to attack. The next thing I know, this stream of energy is being shot at me having screamed the words, “KAMEHAMEHA!” I sidestepped over to the right instantly to evade it as though nothing was coming at me. All I could hear from everyone in the room were shouts of confusion and screams of disbelief,
“HE DODGED IT?”
Even Saruto’s face seemed to drop at the sight and quickly I pressed myself to my feet, breathing heavily as I reached the point of exhaustion.
