Introduction
Rimer is a fantasy world created by Rosanna P. Brost. The story of Rimer is told in a series of books, none of which are published yet.

The Creation of Rimer
The idea for Rimer came from a game Rosanna played in elementary school, when jealous of a creature a friend had created, she made up one of her own. But once she made one, she could not resist making more. Soon she had many different species, but no place for them to live. So in when she was in grade 3 she wrote a short story called Dragon Drool which would form the original concept for the world Rimer. Later that year she wrote 2999 which would be the first draft of the title that would come to be known nine years later as Ashes of Hope. The story went through at least five different rewrites, but the general idea has always stayed the same - humans coming to Rimer in the hopes of finding a new home for their species. There has always been a bit of a environmental interest in the stories.

The Author
Rosanna P. Brost was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada in 1990 but moved to British Columbia at the slim age of six weeks. She grew up hiking, telling stories and drawing which would form the base for her stories, including Ashes of Hope. Inspired by the world around her and stories, Rosanna became an avid reader and writer. She currently lives in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada at home with her cat Sunny, who was the first fire cat.

Planned Books

Gods of Rimer

The Cult of the Phoenix Or so it has been called by noted human scholars. While less falla believe in the strange diety known as the Great Phoenix anymore, protector of all Rimer and bringer of immortal life and death, there are some who still do. In ancient times there is evidence that she was worshipped fully by fallan cultures, who did not look to the present Rimarian gods at all. Thus the legend that the gods were originally mortal may be true, as well as the important fallan legend of the Battle of Rimer. However, as no physical proof to either has been studied or found, scientists are wise to think that it may just be a epic tale for now. There has no evidence, other than in tang rock paintings many eons old, that the Phoenix is real at all. Legend says that she gave immortal life to the present gods of Rimer, so that they could continue to protect it for her.

Rimarian Gods
While people have doubts about the Phoenix, nobody doubts the existance of the gods, at least if you're a falla or in the Escavian alliance. (Which means everyone but Chartan.) Everyone believes in the gods, as unlike the mystical Great Phoenix, the gods have actually been seen. It has been said that at times a individual might acquire a patron god, who looks out for them. Legend says that the god Anuli was Zachary Fletch's.

The Arrival of Humans
Humans came to Rimer in the hopes of finding a new life and starting fresh in an unpolluted, uncrowded world. They sent explorers ahead to prospect, but despite never hearing back from the explorers on the U.N.E. Griffin, came anyway aboard the world ship U.N.E. Hope. (U.N. E. stands for 'united nations of earth.') The first human settlement was founded on the west coast of Escavia and was named Serenity in the hopes of sparking international peace. Later Serenity became the international human capital of Rimer and the capital of Escavia was moved south to a site that would come to be known as Seamist. The feelings of the local sentient creatures at the arrival humans was distinctly uncaring, but humans still managed to befriend the species known as the kiri who live in the desert of Escavia. In the interests of protecting Rimer for the future, the early pioneers of Rimer educated their children extensively on the harm that humans can do to their home. The tradition has continued ever since.
