The Cookedart blog gives us a detailed report on the 10 minute clip of WALL-E that was shown at Comic-Con today!
Spoiler Starts!
It opened with a downshot of Wall-E on top of a vehicle, sleeping. Some lights come on and the Apple Power On chime sounds as Wall-E wakes up (a funny Mac nerd reference) and starts off towards the heaps and heaps of junk. Wall-E and his vehicle are on top of a broken up freeway near a city, and there is atmosphere and gas everywhere. Wall-e departs off of his vehicle and we see he is followed around by a cock roach. Wall-e enters the vehicle for a moment and, upon leaving, accidently squishes the roach. It jumps up and cries in surprise, then leans down to see whether or not he killed what is clearly his friend. After a pause, it springs back up, and Wall-e scolds the bug, pointing at it to keep out of his way.Wall-e then starts his rounds, compacting most junk into squares. But he doesn't do this for everything - he searches the garbage trying to find any trace of anything unusual or interesting. He picks up a ping pong paddle with a string and plays with it (accidently hitting himself in the head repeatedly with it), finds a wedding ring case and throws away the diamond ring, finding the case much more interesting. Everything else, he compacts into a square and piles it neatly in a pile. When lifting through one bunch, he notices a small plant, and crouches down to take a look..He uproots the plant and places it into a jar very carefully. But as he's doing this, he notices a small red dot that appears on the ground (like a laser pointer dot). The dot dances around and Wall-e follows in pursuit. We see, though, unawares to Wall-E, that the one dot is being trailed by a huge circle of similar dots to the one he's chasing. Then, a space ship comes down right on top of him, shooting its rockets down into the ground. The world is melting around him and Wall-E frantically digs down into the ground to get away from the heat.We then see a closeup of the molten rocks left behind. After a pause, we see Wall-E poke his hands through the surface, and his head pops up. He looks around, and we see the spaceship unfolding, as it drops down EVE, who is asleep and unmoving. Wall-E rolls up to it, pokes it, and it wakes up, causing him to jump and hide. We then see EVE turn on, and that's the end...
Spoiler Ends!
Hope you enjoyed that!
Pixar Short Films DVD Release Dates!
According to a very reliable anonymous source
So Pixar is going to put out 2 sequels in a row. Pixar always likes a good challenge.
One question I have is that Paul Newman has retried, In the rumor about a Cars 2 in early June of this year Paul Newman said that Pixar was making a Cars 2, so how would he know about a Cars 2 unless someone has told him or he has singed up for it, or maybe he’s already done some voice work, but I doubt it.
I expect Cars 2 to be Pixar’s 2011 release and John Carter of Mars to be Pixar 2012 release.
Any comments? I'm sure you have one.

Fish, Rats, Chefs, and Robots!

CGSociety has an awesome Ratatoille feature that spotlights one of the artists on the team. It is a very informative and enjoyable article and I highly recommend it. Check it out.
Here’s a part of it (make sure you read the whole thing):

Sometimes, a studio discovers its best talent right under its nose. That was the case with Jason Deamer, 33, who is the character art director for Pixar Animation Studio’s upcoming feature animation ‘Wall-E,’ and was one of four character designers for the studio’s current release, Disney/Pixar’s scrumptious animated treat, ‘Ratatouille.’ Deamer didn’t apply for a job as an artist at Pixar; he doodled his way up the career ladder.

Pixar Short Films DVD Announced!
http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZmJ8wyRbW98/RpI5xCrvseI/AAAAAAAAAM4/c6G9bP31YlM/s400/pixar+sf+dvd.PNG
A few weeks ago Film Ick pointed out that The Disney Enquirer had discovered that Disney has recently registered the domains, PixarShorts.com and DisneyPixarShorts.com. That seemed to tell us that a DVD of Pixar short films was on it’s way.
This was not the first time the rumour had been brought up. The rumor had been around for a good while. All the ways back in 2002 is when it started, then in 2004 Aint It Cool News received an insider tip that a DVD full of Pixar shorts was coming soon.
Today Disneybluray.fr announces the Pixar Short Films Collection DVD! It will be coming to DVD Bluray for France. However there is still no announcement for the American Pixar Short Films Collection DVD yet. I’ll keep you up to date about the DVD.
I’m hoping that the DVD will come out a little before Christmas time. So there you have it!
I found a lot of these easter eggs myself and the others are provied by /film and Pixar Planet.
SPOILERS STARTS!
The Pizza Planet Truck can be seen on a bridge over the Seine during the scene in which Skinner is chasing Remy.
A113 can be seen on Git's ear tag.(the Lab Rat)
Mabel’s(the lady with the gun) living room has several framed photos depicting Mabel and her late husband as members of the French resistance during WWII. This might explain how Mabel learned to use a shotgun.
The character Bomb Voyage from The Incredibles makes two appearances in Ratatouille. He appears as a mime on the bridge by Notre Dame when Linguini and Colette skate past. Bomb Voyage’s second appearance is the front-page headline and photo on the newspaper Colette is reading with the Solene Le Claire review.
Restaurant critic Anton Ego’s office is shaped like a coffin to reinforce the idea that a bad review from Ego can be the “death” of a restaurant.
Anton Ego's typewriter looks like a skull.
There were 372 graphics created that appear on food labels, boxes, street signs, posters, and businesses. Many of these graphics are named after Ratatouille crew members.
Lasseter Cabernet Sauvignon is named for executive producer John Lasseter.
Chateau-Bird Champagne named for director Brad Bird.
Chateau-Jessup Pauillac Medoc named for production designer Harley Jessup.
Colette rides a “Calahan” branded motorcycle, named after Sharon Calahan, the director of photography/lighting.
The “Bouchiba” brand spaghetti Linguini cooks with in his apartment is named for animator Bolhem Bouchiba.
The “Bradford” mixer in the kitchen is named for producer Brad Lewis
The “Susman” brand olive oil is named for associate producer Galyn Susman.
“Bar Des 7 Chanceux” is a storefront seen on the streets of Paris. It is named for the “Lucky 7 Lounge,” a homemade secret lounge inside Pixar Animation Studios.
The aforementioned shotgun shells named Cheney. It's a tribute to the Vice-President of the USA Dick Cheney who famously and inadvertently shot a friend he was hunting with a couple of years ago with a shot gun. The media made quite a to do about it. Fortunately the friend made a full recovery.
Linguini wares Incredibles boxers.
When Skinner is looking though his letters, you can see a stamp with a character from Monster Inc. on it, that character is Roz.
The "Family Dog" has a cameo when the dog (from Brad Bird's "Family Dog" show) shadow is shown barking at Remy.
SPOILERS END!
So there are some of the many easter eggs in Ratatouille. I'm sure we will all find a lot of them when the Ratatouille DVD comes out on November 6, 2007.(in the USA) Have a great day!

Ratatouille Box Office Update! (7/5/2007)
Collider.com had the chance to sit down and talk with a lot of the Ratatouille cast and Producer, but the audio interviews that stood out in my mind were the Brad Lewis and Lou Romano interviews. Take a listen to Brad Lewis's interview here, and listen to Lou's here.
Here are a few facts from WALL-E and Up.
"Warning" may contain spoilers.
WALL-E fact: The first 3rd of WALL-E will have no dialog at all, it's all vocalizations.
Up fact #1: Up mostly takes place in a jungle here on earth.
Up fact #2: Up takes place in the present day, but starts in the past of the main charters life, and then progress to the present day.
Another thing I found interesting is that Pixar took a trip to Venezuela for research on Up.
Brad Lewis (producer of Ratatouille) is working on a yet to be announced Pixar project, he tell us this in these 2 video.(fast forward near the end of each video)
Here’s the video from YouTube, and here’s the video from IESB.net
We know that he is not working either WALL-E, Up, Toy Story 3, or John Carter of Mars. In the video from IESB.net he tell us that he does not know when Pixar will announce this film.
This project just might be the also yet to be announced Gary Rydstrom Feature Film for Pixar or either the unannounced Brenda Chapman Feature Film. We'll just have to wait and see.
I can’t wait to get more news about this new Pixar project!
So there you have it!

Well today BuynLarge.com in open, but the whole site does not open til July 13th, anyways the site shows on a video Pixar's very own Mark Andrews acting like a salesman. Take a look yourself here.
