It was Self Defense night at this weeks meeting, and all ladies were invited to attend. Charles Knight showed us a few basic moves to protect ourselves with, and we learned that awareness is move #1! We also learned the side kick, an elbow hit and a punch. Wow did we feel strong! (And admittedly, a little uncoordinated.) Charles will be coming back later this spring to teach us more. Remember ladies...use it or loose it! Practice on your hubby's. Just go easy on them. ;)
Thank you Charles, it was a great evening!

MOPS & Pioneer Clubs (Pine Ridge's youth program) joined together to bring Valentine's cheer to the residents of Madison House & Ivy Court senior homes. The Pioneer Club kids worked hard to make 77 beautiful, hand crafted Valentine Cards for all of the residents. Then on Valentines morning, 30 of us gathered to sing songs of love to the seniors and pass out the cards. It was amazing to see the happiness in their eyes as they sang along to Jesus Loves Me!
Thank you to all who worked hard to make this day a success, as well as to all of the families that came out to join us in spreading God's love!

~Kids and chores? Can it be???
~Cleaning games for preschoolers & teaching young children skills
Ornament Activity
In celebration of our Christmas season, please bring a sentimental ornament from your tree to the meeting on Wednesday. (You'll be taking it home, I promise!) We'll have a special door prize drawing for those who participate
Play Date
Kids love school breaks, but many of us moms need a break after the first week! Let's let the kids burn off the "I'm bored!" and meet at Winter Garden Station Park on Tuesday, December 30th @ 9:30 a.m. The park is located in Winter Garden on 9th Street, between the library and Dillard St. Bathrooms are provided at this park. If you get lost, call me at 407-914-9228
See you on Wednesday!

Hello ladies! Is it just me, or do the days just fly by?

Our next meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 3rd at 6:45 p.m. We will take a break from our book study and focus on a Christmas craft this week! Join us as Amy Magill leads the group in making Christmas garland. "What is that?" you may ask? Well, I can tell you it's not the loops your kiddo's bring home from school - LOL! If you visited her home during the fall season, we'll be making a garland similar to the one in her entry way. You know - the one we all just HAD to know how to duplicate! A huge "Thank YOU!" to Amy for leading the meeting this week.
**If you have decorative edge scissors, please bring them with you on Wednesday. Thanks!
Prayer Requests
New at our last meeting was a basket for prayer requests. If you ever have a need, or a praise to share, please feel free to write it down and place it in the basket at the front table. The women of Pine Ridge PCA have started a weekly prayer meeting each Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 am in the Library, and Betsy will bring our requests with her. This is open to all women, so feel free to join them when you can!
Winter Garden Christmas Parade
The Winter Garden Christmas Parade is this Saturday, December 6th and everyone is invited. The more, the merrier! Be sure to invite the grandparents to come and wave at the kids. Winter Garden does not charge a fee for us to register for the parade. Instead they ask that we bring new, unwrapped toys to donate to local children. If you are able to donate a toy, that would be wonderful! Please bring it with you on Saturday.
The parade starts at 10am, and the lineup starts at 8am....but you don't need to be there until 9:30 'ish. We all know that children sitting around for hours on end waiting for something fun just does NOT work - LOL! We will need to meet at the parking lot of Wachovia Bank on the east side of Dillard St. From the Ocoee area, head west on Hwy 50, turn right onto Dillard St (McDonald's is on the opposite corner) and then a right at the Wachovia Bank. Note that the closer it gets to parade time, the tighter parking gets for the lineup lot. Look for our MOPS truck and Pastor Adam .
The parade heads north on Dillard, takes a left on Plant St. and ends on Plant St. where downtown ends. You may consider having your hubby drop you off at the lineup, then park near the end of the parade so you don't have to make your way back through the traffic. Or, drive separate cars and your sweetie can drive you back to the lot..it's a long walk back afterwards.
Dress in your favorite holiday attire. Please bring your wagons/strollers with you if you can, in case we have more people than will fit into the truck. P.S..don't forget a snack and drink for the kiddo's.
As always, I'm just a phone call or e-mail away if you need anything! 407-914-9228 or gnadtm@gmail.com
Enjoy your day ladies!

Our next MOPS meeting is this Wednesday, Nov. 19th at 6:45 pm...yippee!
Just a reminder that we are collecting donations for the Operation Christmas Child shoe box this week
This is a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus with another child, and to teach our children about giving and how fortunate we all are.
Continuing in our What Every MOM Needs book study, we'll be on chapter 3 this week. Entitled "Relationship - I want someone to understand me," I think this is one of my favorite chapters. We work very hard at healthy relationships with our kids, but what about God, our husbands and our girlfriends? He gave them to us for a reason...because we need them
But, it's not always easy. Most of us put God is first in our lives, but did you know that your husband comes before the kids??? It's true! LOL! You won't want to miss this chapter and discussion, it's sure to be an interesting one! In the event you don't have time to read the full chapter, please be sure to look at the Mom Me Time section at the end for some interesting reflection, especially on marriage.
A couple of other reminders.....
-The Winter Garden Christmas parade is Saturday morning, Dec. 6th. We'll be riding in Pastor Adam's truck, overflowing to our wagons. Bring your kiddos and wear your favorite Christmas attire! I'll send out more details as the time nears.
-Registrations are due
(Past due??) MOPS Int'l membership is $24, and we have a per meeting cost of $5 to help cover some of our operating expenses. Please see me to pay your registration. Scholarships and payment arrangements are available. Thanks!
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday!

Moms & dads - grab your kids and their costumes and join us Friday night, September 24th at the Pine Ridge Harvest Festival! There will be game booths in the gym, a bounce house out front, and old fashioned family games (donut bobbing, sack race, musical chairs, etc. And these are for the adults, too! ) Don't miss the costume parade, free cotton candy and a cookie bake-off for youth and adults. There will also be live music and hot dog dinners available for $2, which includes chips and drink. The fun starts at 5:30 with the booths running until 6:45, and the family games from 7 - 8 pm. A sign up sheet for the cookie bake-off is in the church foyer. You won't want to miss the fun!
