WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE, I HOPE YOU LIKE IT, I'VE NEVER DONE ONE BEFORE. PLEASE READ ON AND HAVE A LOOK AROUND AND SEE WHY I'LL BE PUSHING MYSELF TO DO THESE 2 CHALLENGES.
THE PERSON
Hello, I'm Noel, I'm 43 years old. I live in Driffield, E. Yorks, with my wife and 2 boys. I have always been keen on sport and keeping fit. There are 2 things I have always wanted to do, they are; THE LONDON MARATHON & LANDS END TO JOHN O' GROATS. I trained for the marathon but hurt my knee so I took up cycling. So I thought why not cycle the length of England, and also raise money for a worthy cause. SO HERE WE ARE...As a warm up I will be cycling the COAST 2 COAST ROUTE in MAY. This will be from Southport to Hornsea, 235 miles in 2 days! This will be done on my fairly new mountain bike. Then the big one...980 (ish)miles in 9 days!!! This will be done on a £3O racing bike which i bought on ebay. I have added a few things like a comfy gel seat, puncture proof tubes and new tyres, and new bearings. I will be hoping to raise plenty of money for my son's school, KINGS MILL SPECIAL SCHOOL, DRIFFIELD.
THE REASON.
7 years ago, our second boy was born. Aaron was born severely disabled which was a massive shock and took some time to adjust to. Aaron was born with a very rare syndrome which only affects boy's and only a handful in the world are affected. He will probably never walk or talk but we will never give up hope as he is achieving things which we never thought he would be able to do. He is such a happy boy, and has a smile which will melt your heart! He go's to Kings Mill Special School, in Driffield. When I decided to do this ride I thought I would try and help the school by raising some money which I know would go to help all the children there. As do many special needs schools, they do lack funding and have to fund raise to buy items around the school. The children and all the staff at Kings Mill School are special, and the staff have really helped aaron since he went there in nusery, up to where he is now.He has come on so well and is achieving little things which we never thought he would. So as a big thankyou for all they have done and do on a daily basis (when he is well enough to attend) i would like to raise money to help buy equipment which will help all the children. So I hope you will find it in your hearts to sponsor me and donate, no matter how much, every little helps, to this special cause. Please follow my progress, email me from the guest page or text me, many thanks, noel.
