Dear Fellow Gamma Kappa Alumni,
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself; my name is Robert Sullivan initiate 600, graduated from Georgia Southern in 1998 and currently the President of the Gamma Kappa Housing Corporation. As you know Glenn Aspinwall held the reins for many years and did a fantastic job as the housing corp. president. However, it was time to pass the torch a few years ago which I accepted graciously. As you know we were the First to build our Fraternity house on Georgia Southern Greek Row almost 20 years ago. Over those years many of us have enjoyed the use of that house from Homecoming, Swamp party, socials, and various other events and the thousands of people who passed thru those front doors to enjoy it as well. As a result our house has reached a point where some major and minor repairs are needed. Most of the projects/repairs are due to age not by the current members.
I am reaching out to all of you to for your support both on for financial support and/or labor support. We are lining up an Alumni Work Weekend, July 27-29th
th 2007 which is a Friday thru Sunday. I am asking all of you to think back to the enjoyment you had while at Georgia Southern and to help protect our house for future events and enjoyment. We have over 700 Alumni and I realize many of you have financial obligations from kids in private school or college, your own house and possibly taking care of relatives. We need your help!! If each alumni could donate$ 100.00 or whatever you can spare this will generate enough funds for these repairs and that is money we don’t have to borrow! If you have a low cost basis stock you want to donate, we can arrange an account to accept your gift. The donations will be control by the housing corp. not the general account, so I can promise you the funds will be directed where they need to go!The Majors repairs are as follows: A new driveway cost 26k, bathroom toilets/shower room cost 5k, the front columns have rotted at the base (app. cost 15k), all of these have been priced out by different contractors and will be done professionally. The Minor repairs are new fire rate UL doors and closing attachments;( budget 3k) repainting of the house exterior and interior bedrooms and hallway;(budget 5k), new back deck budget 1,500, light fixtures/covers, paint the kitchen, cabinets and back metal stairwell, new carpet on the stairwell, landscaping projects, and repair holes/sheet rock and paint some of the areas with the help of alumni and current brothers. As you can see

We will publish on the website a list of all who have donated and my goal is to have a plaque made for all those who either donated financially and for those who donated their time for the alumni work weekend.
