Pig & Fiddle Football

Under the captaincy of Tanman since June 2009

Pig Twenty20

We've booked the Kingswood 2nd pitch for the evening of Wednesday 15th July for our very own Pig Twenty20 game. We are looking to base the game on Pig legends versus some of the newer players. Legends will be skippered by Skipper, who else ? with the new boys captained by Pooman (finally got the captaincy !)

Kempy should have text everyone as well so please reply via text or e-mail ASAP or leave a message on the board if you can make it so we can arrange teams.

We start between 6.30 and 7pm

All ages, sexes and abilities welcome.

Non playing supporters/cheerleaders also welcome. Bring your own outfit....

Welcome !

The season is over and we have cemented our position at the bottom of division 3. Next year may see us in division 4 and who knows, maybe we'll win a couple of games.

Summer training sees us ditch our season-long partners "Flan O Briens" and move our allegiance to new friends "Belvedere". We take on a half pitch booking at St Mark's School Larkhall, every Thursday from 7pm until 9pm from now until eternity.

Friendlies - Are you an opposition manager that wants the chance for your team to gain a moral-boosting close-season win ? If so then maybe we can help. We have been losing games against a variety of opposition for years and can guarantee to roll over and take a humping no matter what your standard. Leave us a message on the messageboard if you fancy a game......

AND THE WINNERS ARE..........

Last Friday saw us break with tradition and make our way to the Pig & Fiddle for an evening of awards and general revelry. Spirits were high (particularly when free beer was announced) and the headline feature of an end of season DVD review was well received.(Thanks to Matt Chylewski available for Weddings, Birthdays, Bah Mitzvahs etc)

Award Winners
Managers Player (s) - Ant Stone & Phil Marchut
Players' Player - Olly Embleton
Top Goalscorer - Jonny West
Arsehole of the Year - Russell Burge

On the night Kempy took the opportunity to thank the absent skipper, Mike Silk and introduce everybody to next years captain, Adam "Tanman" Tanner.

Thanks were also extended to the owners, management and staff of the Pig for their continued support without which we could not continue. Special thanks to Jenny Brown in particular who works tirelessly behind the scenes as Secretary and Treasurer.

Several reports saw players leaving the popular night club "Back to Mine" and a large pile of vomit confirms that Benji did indeed enjoy a riverside beer in my garden.

Training continues at St Marks school for the next 2 weeks before moving to the Rec for July and then back to Kingswood School (the nicer astro) from August onwards.

Friendly fixtures this year are confirmed as Flans, Belvedere and (hopefully) Bath Arsenal and will take place in August.

Rumours of a Twenty20 cricket game are not unfounded and I will be announcing a date, venue and opposition for this in the coming days...

Cheers

John
