Plan for Success from the Start!

Individual classes and hours may have adjusted due dates or assignments, ALWAYS, contact the teacher by by phone or e-mail from the Pierce website.
A good resource for teens is the book 7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens by Sean Covey. At Pierce, reading and discussing these with a group of students, has helped many to improve their personal study habits. As a result of this dialog and change in habits, their attitudes and grades dramatically improved.
It is important that the student have a set time each day designated for homework and reading time to be successful in school. Assignments are given daily and long term projects, reading, and Accelerated Math may need to be worked on over the weekends or breaks.
Begin the process by starting a family calendar that has very large spaces to mark important due dates for papers, ACC homework and projects as you learn about them.
Truly successful people never do everything alone. They build a good support team. Family, teachers and students working together will contribute to the success of the student and make a difference. Remember, the Redford and Livonia libraries are open evenings and weekends. A student that needs to use a computer is able to do so with a valid family library card. This is a good place to have your child help you become more comfortable working with the computers.
If you have any questions about the information on this website, contact your teacher directly.
**All Pierce students are expected to read daily. An Accelerated book list for Pierce Middle School is available for you to review. The list is kept at the Redford Public Library Children's Section desk.
