The Taint Visual Spoiler
All symbols ™ & © 1993—2007 Wizards of the Coast Inc.
All card ideas ™ & © 2006—2007 Pichoro
This is a visual spoiler for The Taint, a Magic: the Gathering set by myself, Pichoro. The set's main mechanic is poison, both killing with it and using it for other purposes. This set was designed before Time Spiral, but the formatting has been updated after the release of Future Sight. The set features 179 cards, including 20 basic lands, 15 nonbasic lands (5 of each rarity), 24 muticolor and artifact cards (8 of each rarity), and 8 cards of each rarity of each of the five colors.
Almost all of the art is copyrighted by various sources, but I cannot include individual copyrights due to lack of space. I do give the artists name in the artist line when the artist is known. This set is not made to be sold, and I will never profit from it.
A number of the cards are either by or based upon cards by BigGator5, TheGray, and Wordsmyth. These cards are labeled as such.
Thank you to Wordsmyth for providing a set symbol, and to the MSE2 forum users for all of the constructive criticism provided during the making of this set. And of course, thank you to Twanvl and everyone else who has helped to make MSE2 possible, and indirectly, made this set possible as well.
This set features a number of explicit images, although they are not of a lewd nature, but of an artistic nature. Please be advised.
This set was designed in the time between the release of Coldsnap and the release of Time Spiral.
This set introduced one keyword, Recast. The rules text is as follows:
502.X1. Recast
502.X1a Recast represents both a triggered ability and a static ability. "Recast N" means "At the beginning of your upkeep, put an age counter on this permanent." and "Whenever this permanent has N or more age counter(s) on it, sacrifice it unless you pay it's mana cost. If you do, remove all age counters from it."
502.X1b If a permanent has multiple instances of Recast, each one triggers separately. However, the age counters are not linked to any particular ability. Each instance of Recast will count the total number of age counters on the permanent, including those from effects other than Recast.
