The most popular are located in the Bangtao Area in the "Laguna Complex", The beach is a very long stretch of white sand, not as powdery as in Patong Beach or Kata, but it has the beauty of a cleaned and untouched seafront. Some nice restaurant are serving an excellent seafood right on the beach with your feet in the sand, which is very rare in Phuket.

Luxury Resorts in Surin Beach and Northern Phuket

In Surin Beach: this remarkable beach was literally untouched by the tsunami and is now the nest of 4 very luxurious Resorts. It actually consist of two beaches: the real Surin Beach large and borded by numerous local restaurants made of bamboo and straw, and the Pansea Beach where no one can go unless you are a customer of The Chedi or The Amanpuri. During the high season, it is really a beautiful place, not to crowded but not too quiet. Lately few trendy shops opened nearby, as "The Plaza". If you like Thai food, the choice is unlimited, but also more fashionable Restaurant offers european and fusion cuisine for higher budget.. and we mean higher...

Amanpuri Resort : Very well known, very exclusive and probably the best location and privacy on the island.
The Chedi: features a very private beach shared with only the Amanpuri, small luxurious bungalows, some of them right on the beach. A good "Value for money"
Twin Palms Resort: the newest addition to the Surin Beach Area. Despite the fact that the reosrt is only at walking distance from the beach, it offers the luxury of a new trend of design hotels, with a very large pool and a reknown spa.
Treetops Arasia Phuket : Also very new and built on the hillside overlooking Surin Bay. Infinity pool in very private villas. One of our favourite at this time is this area.

Further north, passing Bangtao Beach is Mai Khao Beach. This very long but narrower stripe of white sand has been kept in it natural condition until today.

JW Marriott Phuket : New and also well known, it is the only resort on the beach front of Mai Khao Beach. A very large hotel with many high standard restaurant including a Japanese one.
