Welcome to the official website for the music department of the Pleasant Hope public schools! We hope you are finding it to be a fantastic resource for all the students and families involved in the program as well as anyone else who might be interested in what we are up to. Hey, marching band folks! Here is the website for the July 14 drum corps show in Broken Arrow, OK. Tickets are $25 per person. I'll pay for them with my own credit card, so you can just pay me if you plan to go. I need to order them by July 7, so please email me if you are interested in going. My email is jfjdevos@hotmail.com. I have gotten a bus for all of us or you may drive as a family. We'll leave at noon from school and get back around 1:00 in the morning. Don't forget that leader camp starts just eight hours after we get back! This is a fantastic way for us to see what marching is all about and to get MOTIVATED for our upcoming season! Congratulations to Cassie Schmidt, Nila Dubovsky, Jasmin Claros, and Tiffany Woodall for their fantastic performances at the District Solo & Ensemble Festival in Stockton on Saturday, March 28! Cassie received a III, Nila earned two IIs, and Jasmin and Tiffany are bound for State Festival with I ratings! Congratulations to all!

Congratulations!... To all the middle school band students who were nominated for the All-District Junior High Band! They are pictured below. We are proud of all those who participated on November 15 - Eulice, Lindzee, Elizabeth, Frankie, Macy, Aubrey, and Robbie - as well as those who will try again next year - Amber, Erika, Thomas, Katie, Jamie, and Rygent.
Do these pics bring back any memories? We hope so. And we hope that all of us will continue to have great experiences together in music so that we keep building those memories. If you have other pics of the bands and choirs that you would like to see here, send them to us and we'll get them posted...

For an idea of our vision for the future of the music program here in Pleasant Hope, please download and read this paper outlining our goals and the actions needed to get us there over the next few years. Of course, the most important document here is probably the official music department calendar. We have also linked to it under the nav bar to the left. You will need a PDF reader (like Adobe's) for text documents and Sibelius' Scorch reader for those in musical notation. Both are free downloads. Many of next year's events are already scheduled. Don't miss them! May 5 , 2009 - Palen Music has got a great list of summer music camps that anyone can attend. We highly recommend going to one of these camps listed on the Palen site! :-) May 3 , 2009 - Congratulations to Jasmin Claros and Tiffany Woodall for fantastic performances at State! Both earned II ratings and will be featured on the May 7 Spring Concert at 7 pm in the PHMS Gym! Don't miss it!!! Apr 4 , 2009 -Everybody watch THIS! Now! :-) Mar 1 , 2009 - Just figured out how to use Google Calendars as the offical online calendar for the High School! I've got all the music events on it in purple Go check it out! Feb 1 , 2009 - Chyanne Virella just messaged me with this YouTube link. Get some snacks and a soda, call the rest of your family in, and sit and watch this for 20 minutes - it's awesome! Dec 20, 2008 - Hope everyone enjoys Christmas Break! Get some rest and come back in January ready to work hard. Not only do we need to get our concert ready, but festival season is now upon us!
