Dutch Water Barometer

Dutch Water Barometer "Weather glass". Replica of findings in Holland. It was very common from the 17th century to the 19th century. Geen-brown colored glass.
These water barometers were used mainly among the coastal population and fishermen. The most famous user of this kind of instrument was Johan Wolfgang Goethe (famous German poet who lived 1749-1832) whose weather glass still hangs in his home (which now is a museum) in the town Weimar in Germany.
This barometer is blown in the north of Bohemia (todays Czeck Republic) where they have found barometers manufactured in the 18th century and where the old glass craftsmanship has an unbroken 1000 year long tradition.
So how does the barometer work?
High Water Level in the Spout = It is bad weather or it will soon become bad weather, depression, rain, thunder, etc.
Low Water Level in the Spout = It is or it will soon become lovely weather, high pressure, sunshine, etc.
Some practical tip:
For best effect, the water shall be about 0,4-0,
