The Eagles came out firing with a balanced attack on Thanksgiving night and never looked back, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 48-20. Donovan McNabb led the team down the field on the opening drive that concluded in a touchdown pass to Brian Westbrook. The Eagles had 5 passes and 7 rushes on the opening scoring drive, and never looked back. The team scored on two of its next three posessions, as they jumped out to a 21-0 lead.
McNabb bounced back with a huge game, throwing for 260 yards and 4 TD's, while also rushing for 24 yards on 4 attempts. Westbrook scored 4 TD's for the Birds, two of them from McNabb, and the other two on the ground inside the redzone.
The Cardinals were never able to recover from the 21-0 deficit, as Kurt Warner was under constant pressure from the Eagles stingy defense, which forced four turnovers. The Cardinals were able to make a little noise on offense, cutting the lead to 34-20 in the beginning of the fourth quarter, before McNabb & Crew put them away with two TD's on their next three drives.
The big highlight in the game was that the team actually ran the ball more than passed in the game, with 40 rushes and 39 pass attempts. The coaching staff put together a nice gameplan, with a balanced attack on offense that allowed the Eagles to score all game and keep the defense fresh and off the field. The Eagles time of possession was 39:33, the longest they have held the ball in a game all season.
