African Pygmy Hedgehogs
(Atelerix albiventris/Atelerix algirus)

The African pygmy hedgehog is a hybrid of the white bellied hedgehog (Atelerix albiventris) and the Algerian hedgehog (Atelerix algirus) and has been bred in captivity for a number of years,
They are around 1/4 the size of a European hedgehog and can weigh from around 300-500g as adults,
I have been breeding pygmy hedgehogs for around the last 2 years with my main aim on breeding for quality over anything else, All my hedgehogs are UKAPH registered and all hoglets are sold with a pedigree, At the moment i have a herd of around 12 hogs in a range of colours from grey to apricot , snowflakes and albinos altho i dont breed for colour i do have a good idea of the genetics of my hogs so can predict what will be coming up in future litters,
