Wildlife and Pet Portraits

Wildlife & Pet Portraits

Wildlife and pets provide us with an infinite array of serious, amusing and interesting studies.

Wildlife portraits help teach us respect for the animal, its environment and the impact we share in each others' lives. They can also be humourous making us laugh at their antics.

Pets add so much to our everyday lives. Our relationship with our pets can last many years, even decades. They bring joy, laughter and sometimes tears into our dailylife.

Lasting Memories

I try to tell something of their story when I draw or paint them, to bring something of their personality to the canvas.

Pets and wildlife can teach us so much about ourselves. Some of my projects embody these teachings; others are intended to bring light into your heart. Still other art pieces are loving depictions of the pet or animal just as they are - a forever keepsake to store in our memories.

My Artwork

Portraits are available to purchase from my studio and various online venues.

Commissions are available on a limited basis. I work from photos of your pet. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. You receive updates to proof the painting at several stages prior to completion. For further details, please click on the commissions tab.

My artwork is available in watercolour, colour pencil, graphite, oil, acrylic and pastels.

Also available are greeting cards, prints, giclee prints, t-shirts, mugs and more. Artist trading cards (2.5 x 3.5 inches) are also available.

Miniature Works of Art

Would you like to make an investment in art but can't afford the cost of a normal size original or print? Have you found an artist you would really like to have a piece of art from but can't afford the cost of a regular size piece? Do you love miniatures - normal sized items reduced in scale? Then you may find ATCs/AECOs are just the thing for your collection.

These miniature works of art are the size of a regular playing card - 2.5 x 3.5 inches. How do you display them? There are many different frames available for displaying your art cards on your wall or desk. The frames range from a simple collage with plain border or to more wildly ornate settings. Your art cards can be displayed singly in stands, placed in a box so that you can leaf through them. You can also display your cards in binders using the 8/page pocket pages used for storing sports trading cards.

  AECOs

AECO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. Again this apparently originated on EBAY. The main difference between ATCs and AECOs is that AECOs are not given away but are created with the intention for them to be sold.

On the back of my ATCs/AECOs I number and sign each of them. I also state whether the edition is a limeted one (1 of 50) or an open edition (1 of oe). Some are 1 of 1. When that one is gone, it is gone. I may make prints or I may decide not to.

There are 2 ways to purchase any of my AECOs.  AECOs may be purchased directly from me.  Click here  to purchase from my Art Cards, Editions and Originals gallery.

The AECO's ship from Canada. Postage is $3.00 (0 to 6 cards can be shipped for this price).

ATCs

ATC stands for Artist Trading Card. The idea for this comes from the sports trading cards many of us used to get for free in a pack of bubblegum. ATCs are created as an original work of art (hand drawn, painted, etc.), or collage, or by any other craft medium you can think of and/or also created as prints. The size for these is 2.5 x 3.5 inches. ATCs are not to be sold. They are intended only for trade or swapping from person to person.

Giclee Prints

Artwork is reproduced as a giclee print, an amazing process that is very difficult to tell from the original piece. I have currently contracted with Imagekind.com to create gicleeprints of my art. Please be aware that you will need to contact Imagekind regarding all purchases of myartwork. The company is located in the USA. Shipping and handling will be charged from their shop location.

Please make yourself familiar with their terms and conditions, as well as shipping and payment information on the Imagekind.com site. As you are making your purchase from Imagekind, my terms and conditions do not apply. (Regarding Giclee prints purchased from Imagekind only.)
