| Help reduce pet over-population (this one is worth repeating). Each year, almost 5 million (1.8 million dogs and 3.2 million cats most of them healthy and less than 18 moths old) are killed. Why are there too many pets? The most obvious problem is indiscriminate breeding. It can be solved by sterilization (spaying or neutering). It is estimated that one unspayed dog can lead to over 28,000 puppies in nine years. In the same time, an unspayed cat can lead to 14 million kittens.
