"Never piss off a dead rabbit." - Peter Rottentail
Director:
John and Mark Polonia
Cast:
Brice Kennedy, Dave Fife, Brian Berry, Ken Van Sant, Kristen Wiltse, Todd Carpenter, John Polonia
After performing badly at a birthday party, a magician by the name of Peter Krigstein meets a man that gives him some kind of potion. He drinks this secret potion in which drives him a little mad...so mad that he decides to kill himself to teach everyone a lesson.
13 years later, 2 very idiotic guys finds this mysterious spellbook and what do you think they did with this spellbook? That's right, they recited this weird little spell that resurrects the dead magician. But there's one thing that no one counted on, the dead magician is now an evil rabbit by the name of Peter Rottentail. Don't you just love that name?
Carnage and mayhem abound as Peter Rottentail, armed with a deadly carrot, a meatcleaver, and very a witty sense of humor that kinda reminds you of Freddy Krueger, goes on a murderous rampage for the ones involved in this birthday party from hell that took place those 13 years earlier and anyone else who happens to get in the way.
Will anyone be able to stop Peter Rottentail???
I have been watching the films of The Polonia Brothers for a few years now, but was kinda getting disappointed with more recent ones like THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED 2 and HOLLA! IF I KILL YOU. PETER ROTTENTAIL is definitely a change of pace from those films that I just mentioned plus how can you go wrong with an evil rabbit? You really can't go wrong with that and you just gotta love his sense of humor.
The first thing that I should mention is that this film indeed does lack the gore that I have seen in other Polonia Brothers flicks, which kinda surprised me. Did it need to be gory? HELL NO! Sure, there is blood, but it really didn't need to be bloody in order to be entertaining.
I thought the acting in PETER ROTTENTAIL was quite good, especially that of Brice Kennedy who's only film that I had seen prior to this one was THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED 2, which I have to say even though the film was pretty bad, Brice did a really good job with what he was given. I am very much looking forward to seeing more films from Brice in the very near future.
There is one scene in particular that just keeps cracking me up everytime I think about it and that involves one of the main characters fighting with Peter Rottentail in the same tradition as The Three Stooges. I have seen alot of that type of comedic fighting before, but I really don't know if I've seen this way or this fast before. Believe me, that fight scene was really fast. It was great!
On a final note, I have to say that PETER ROTTENTAIL is vastly entertaining with some very funny dialogue, cool acting and has one of the most fun characters that I have seen recently in any indie horror film.
My Rating:
8/10
