COMPANY OVERVIEW AND HISTORY
Personality Productions was founded more than fifty years ago by Jean Bennett and Buck Ram. Personality Productio
ns, Inc., in conjunction with Bennett's own Personality Promotions, was the managment firm that took The Platters to the top of the charts. Over the years its roster has included The Penguins, The Queens, Cornel Gunter, The Colts, Stewart Rose, David Somerville, The Flares, Bach Yen, Benny Joy, Johnny Olen, The Blockbusters, Gary Puckett, and the "Ikes": Ike and Tina Turner, Ike Cole and Ike Clanton.
As The Platters rose to the top of the charts and became the #1 group of the Golden Era of Rock & Roll, the company's roster narrowed to concentrate on its superstar act and a few others.
In the 1970's Ram and Bennett changed the name of The Platters to The Buck Ram Platters to reflect Ram's contribution as writer, manager and producer and establish the continuity of management and ownership. Personality continued to manage The Buck Ram Platters and other artists for the next three decades.
In 2008
Bennett and Gayle Schreiber decided to revitalize the company with a new name - Personality Plus Talent Management, the addition of several select artists, and a new focus - entertainment for the baby boomer generation.
Bennett's 50 years of first hand experience with the music and groups of this generation make her an expert. You won't find Brittany Spears or Paris Hilton at Personality Plus, but you will find seasoned professionals including: Soul Sister #1. Marva Whitney; Early Clover; The Buck Ram Platters; The Fireballs; Jim Mann; Charlie Shaffer; and Ron Alan Brown.
All are consumate performers who have played to audiences around the world and will bring your guests the music they can sit back, close their eyes and remember the wonderful (and sometimes painful) days of their youth or build new memories with the music that was the heartbeat of the nation.
